Matron of Honor
Despite being totally different (& completely shy & timid), she invited the new girl (me, of course) to come sit with her friends at lunch. More than 20 years later & she's still saving a seat for me. She deserves much more than the MOH title for loving me through some roughhhhh times, putting up with my madness, & for loving my boys from birth till now! (She's still their favorite dental hygienist!)
Matron of Honor
I mean technically, we're not related, but don't tell our kids that! Our boys consider each other cousins because really, Melissa & her crew are family. It started with long (sometimes tearful) minivan talks after clinicals in nursing school almost 15 years ago! So many memories of family vacations, crazy nights out on the town, happy dances & ugly cries with this one & I wouldn't have it any other way!!
Bridesmaid
Little did I know that my first friend in Georgia would become my rock, my sounding board for all things, my editor in chief, the one to fill my cup, feed my crew, and when I forget, to remind me of who I am. She is the one who is ALWAYS there. No matter what, even with a foot in a boot and a limp in her step, she will meet (if not beat) the ambulance to my house when 911 is called. She won't just help me hide the body, she'll think of all the other details, help me figure them out, & clean up afterward. She loves & serves with everything in her & faithfully ALWAYS brings the sarcasm in only the best ways.
Bridesmaid
Teen mom? ✅ Midwest girl? ✅ Badass nurse? ✅✅✅ If there's anyone out there who gets me from pretty much every angle of life, it's this girl. Just knowing her makes me want to level up in every area because she is a BOSS. Beautiful, brilliant, disciplined, loving, forgiving, & kind---but still takes no sh*t. I wanna be just like her when I grow up. (Even though she's younger than me. 😂)
Bridesmaid
Sweet & southern as a Georgia peach can be is Jadella! Kimberlie will never forget when Jade strolled up to the Surgical/Trauma ICU at Grady (downtown Atlanta) in her heels & bright blue pants asking in that Southern twang of hers through a smile as bright as the sun where she could find the manager. It was her first day as a travel nurse & Kimberlie, who seems to always lack a filter replied, “Oh honey, they’re gonna eat you alive”. Yep. Those were the first words she said to one of the purest hearts she’s known. 🤦🏻♀️ Fast forward about 6-7 years & they’ve become such great friends! Soo many concerts, fun Bachelorette trips & trauma/drama bonding! 😅 Oh…and they most definitely did NOT eat her alive! She handled her own, stayed at Grady for years & is now a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner!! #boss
Best Man
He may be in the Army, but this Marine doesn't hold it against him. They taught and coached baseball together in Virginia, but despite P's move to Georgia, their bromance lives on! There's never ever ever a dull moment when Ringo's around--in all the fun ways! (It's hard to believe he's actually a Drill Sergeant now!!)
Groomsman
From player & coach to buddies for life, these guys made Roanoke football look good. 😎 It's hard to believe that it started on a middle school football field so long ago, continued into high school & then even into college while BK played at Virginia Tech. Now grown & an assistant principal himself, P's the one taking notes. (Mostly on style & swag if he's being honest. 😉)
Groomsman
The only man in Georgia to love all things baseball as much as Coach P! These two spend COUNTLESS hours pouring into our at risk youth in the classroom & on the field. ⚾️ You'd think he was actually a brother as much as he gives Kimmie a hard time and is probably the only one who texts P as much as her!
Groomsman
Shannon's Bosnian brotha from a few doors down. Life is so much more fun with his entire family! (The cute flower girl belongs to him too. 😊)
Groomsman
Kimberlie's first love & oldest son, Micah James. He is SO ready to finally pass the torch of the 'man of the house,' & couldn't be happier or more grateful that it's Shannon who has to 'deal with Mom' for the rest of his life. 😜 Neither of them would have survived high school if it weren't for Shannon. 😬 Micah has LOVED having a History teacher in his life every day, but more than that, Shannon has taught Micah to step up to the plate and be a man in ways a mother just can't.
Groomsman
Kimmie's baby boy (although 16 at that point), or as Coach P Iikes to call him, "Lil Dabo," will be standing tall & proud next to Shannon. He could not have picked a more fun or better guy to help raise him through high school. He will tell you he learned his work ethic from them both, but everything he knows about how to treat a woman from Shannon.
