How We Met

First comes school, then comes marriage!

We met in 2015 during my sophomore year and Tyler's senior year of high school at Fernley High. We sat next to each other in sculpture class where we joked around and helped each other with our projects. However, it was during marching band season where we grew closer and closer. Long practice days, late night performances, and LOTS of pizza led us to having a short-lived high school romance. Unfortunately, we decided that it wasn't a good time to be together and we put things on hold. Even though said romance didn't last long, we remained best friends until August of 2016 (summer before my junior year) when Tyler asked me to be his girlfriend yet again. I said yes and the rest is history! Nearly a decade and two pups later and I'm so excited to be marrying my best friend! :)

Our Engagement

SHE SAID YES!!!

December 14, 2019 is a night we'll never forget! The day started out with us deciding to go to Virginia City on a whim. We woke up, got dressed, and made the hour long trip up the mountain to the famous tiny mining town. We walked up and down main street, visiting all the little shops, grabbing a bite to eat at the Red Dog Saloon, and grabbing a warm drink at the Roasting House. Since it was December, the town was covered in Christmas lights and wreaths. When the sun had set, the tiny town became a beautiful glowing wonderland tucked away in the mountains. In addition to all the lights and laughter that flooded main street, we were greeted with an unexpected Christmas Parade! What a perfect day to go to Virginia City on a whim! After the parade, I was freezing but Tyler convinced me to walk down to Saint Mary's in the Mountains Church to see it lit up at night. While I was admiring the architecture of the church, Tyler got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Of course I said yes and here we are today! Virginia City has always held a special place in our hearts. Mine because I was born and raised in Nevada and spent many summers going to Virginia City with my Grandpa Ralph and my younger siblings. And for Tyler because we've spent many spring and summer days just walking around and admiring the history of the town.
