One stop shop for adventures in Baja!
Just north of Pescadero, Las Palmas is an untouched beach and a true oasis. It's about 5 minutes drive from Todos Santos, driving south toward Pescadero, there is a small (almost invisible) turnoff at km 57 maker (the road was washed out when we visited last October so you might have to use another entrance – we found one just a few hundred feet to the south) – it is located just across the highway from the research station, follow the dirt road west for about 1.5 miles to the entrance. Do not leave anything in your car and when swimming stay away from the rocks because there's a rip current.
Pescadero and Todos Santos is well known for their amazing organic food. In Cerritos, there is a restaurant bar at Cerritos Surf Town Hotel and a few more restaurants walking distance from the main beach. There is a really good pizza place at Villas de Cerritos, Free Souls (which is amazing food) is just up the road, Desert Moon Hotel has a restaurant and Cerritos Beach Club is right on the beach. The Hacienda Hotel up on the rocky point has a palapa bar on site. Pescadero is 5 minutes away and Todos Santos is 15 minutes away; both towns have incredible restaurants! Our favorites are Hierbabuena farm to table (http://www.hierbabuenarestaurante.com/) and Baja Beans is a great place to chill and have a homemade pastry and an insanely good latte.
Matt fell in love with the local skaters and the thrill of finding this hidden gem. If you have anything to give-away please bring it because the local kids do not have access to skateboards or gear - they will be grateful for your generosity. Matt gave away his skateboard set-up last year and the kids wouldn't leave him alone, the language barrier was hilarious.
Eat, drink, lay by the pool, stargaze, surf, boogie board, do yoga, read, book spa treatments, gallery hop, take a cooking class, sunbathe, swim, beach walk, cliff hike, shop, explore the wonderful world of Mexico, sing in the shower, sit in the hot tub, drink margaritas, attempt some Spanish - you can do just about anything.
Walk down to the beach and book a massage with one of the therapists that set-up daily or come see us at Cerritos Surf Town Hotel and book a spa treatment.
The town of Todos Santos is about 10 miles north of Pescadero. It’s one of only thirty communities in Mexico to receive the honor of “Pueblo Magico,” or “Magical Town,” a designation awarded for retaining its authentic historic and artistic charm. You'll find incredible places to eat, shop and art galleries galore. Also visit the beautiful Town Center and the Cathedral.
Go to Punto Lobos fishing village and ask for Augustine. He is an expert fisherman and knows English. More information to come!
This is a great local magazine that you can pick up when you arrive or take a look at past issues online.
Go to the beach in La Pastora, located in Todos Santos, to find out more information about releasing the baby turtles. If you can’t find the beach go to the coffee shop La Equina and they will tell you how to get there.
