We ask everyone to dress dressy casual or beach formal. Think cocktail party on the beach!
As an alternative to renting a car, contact my friend Mario to book a shuttle from the airport or 24/7 local taxi services. He is known as the white unicorn because he is usually on-time and his services are impeccable. Make sure to mention that you are a guest at the wedding. Website: http://tsprivatetransportation.com/. Contact them at +52 612 151 8707 or +52 612 142 6156 or email at contact@tsprivatetransportation.com. For local taxi service text Jose at 52 612 151 8707 or the office at 52 612 130 3319.
We recommend renting a car at the SJD airport. Make sure the rental company is located at the airport. Some credit card companies will cover the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) if you use the card to make the reservation and the payment. If your card covers it, you need to DECLINE the coverage at the rental counter. Also, make sure to do a very thorough vehicle inspection check (inside and outside of the car) before driving away. The drive to Pescadero takes about an hour. Make sure to have pesos to pay the toll road fee on your way to the beach. If you choose not to rent a car, you can take a shuttle from the airport. Contact Todos Santos Private Transportation.
Please let us know your plans by August 25, 2017. Thank you for traveling all the way to Mexico with us.
Absolutely, Zeke and Ollie would love to have some friends to play with.
Absolutely, we'd be honored; the owners ask that you purchase a drink or something at the cafe if you are using the facilities.
Cerritos Beach is on the Pacific side of Baja California Sur and is approximately one hour from San Jose del Cabo Airport.
Yes, there is a restaurant bar at Cerritos Surf Town Hotel and a few more restaurants walking distance from the main beach. There is a really good pizza place at Villas de Cerritos, Free Souls (which is amazing food) is just up the road, Desert Moon Hotel has a restaurant and Cerritos Beach Club is right on the beach. The Hacienda Hotel up on the rocky point has a palapa bar on site. Pescadero is 5 minutes away and Todos Santos is 15 minutes away; both towns have incredible restaurants! Our favorites are Hierbabuena farm to table (http://www.hierbabuenarestaurante.com/) and Baja Beans is a great place to chill and have a homemade pastry and an insanely good latte.
Yes, my friend Mario owns Mario Surf School, please visit http://mariosurfschool.com/ for more information. He is a great guy and only employs the best. Don't forget to let him know you are in Mexico for the wedding and he will take good care of you. Email him at info@mariosurfschool.com or call +52 612 142 6156.
We recommend using an ATM to get pesos; you'll get the best exchange rate. You can exchange a little bit of money at the airport but the best exchange rate is withdrawing pesos from the ATM. Many places in Pescadero are small family run businesses, some do take credit cards but they prefer pesos. There are no ATM machines or banks in Pescadero. There are banks in Todos Santos about 15 minutes away. It’s best to notify your bank and let them know you will be traveling in Mexico so they don't think someone hijacked your credit card.
We've heard that AT&T works pretty well, Verizon not so well. Please check with your phone company. You can find WiFi just about anywhere so iPhones work well when connected and iMessages are easy peasy. You can also download Whatsapp, Viber, or Skype.
There are vegetable stands and grocery stores 5 minutes away in Pescadero, however there are more options 15 minutes away in Todos Santos.
Yes, most places have WiFi. However some places only offer it in communal areas.
It's always a good idea to bring large amounts of sunscreen, a hat, camera, a good book, your surfboard, umbrella, and maybe some music. Bring casual clothing; even the nicer restaurants are very casual. For the cooler evenings, a sweater is a good idea. Just pack for the perfect summer day. Also, don't forget your passport and copies of it just in case.
Yes, meet at Cerritos Surf Town Hotel on Thursday, October 5th for sunset beers and a beach bonfire. Also, please feel free to come hangout with us anytime at Cerritos Surf Town Hotel.
No, no and no. We would also suggest using bottled water to brush your teeth. Most hotels/rentals offer filtered water but just in case always have some extra on hand. We also suggest drinking electrolytes while in Mexico, they will keep you hydrated especially if you are surfing everyday.
After meeting a colorful character on the beach, we soon found out that it's perfectly fine!
Typically the weather is in the high 80s to 90s but you never know what you might get. The cooling Pacific breeze typically cools things down at night. The water temperature is usually in the 80s.
Yes, Cerritos Beach is safe for swimming, boogie boarding and surfing. However, like the ocean anywhere, please use caution, especially when swimming next to the rocks on the north side of the beach.
The wedding venue is about a 15-20 minute walk from Cerritos Beach. Feel free to walk down, especially if you want to enjoy a couple of drinks.
The drive is pretty straightforward and the directions are pretty good. I hope you like dirt roads! Keep your eyes on the road and watch out for livestock and you’ll be fine. We don’t recommend driving at night - you will see why.
