We first met on a wonderful congregation trip to the Dominican bethel. We both happened to be on the aisle seat from the same row so having only the bus aisle between us we just talked nonstop for the almost 3 hrs it took us to get there, having a blast of a time! The bethel tour was beautiful, and we enjoyed going around the city. Shortly after Thomas and his family returned to Denmark and we didn't see each other again for a long time.
Thomas and his family came back to DR and this time to stay. It didn't take long before we became close friends. We saw each other often, in the meetings, in field service, social activities and we talked a lot. We started to notice how much we enjoyed sharing time together and somehow always ended up talking extensively during social events. But after a year and a half, once again Thomas and his family had to go back to Denmark, this time for 2 years.
We kept in touch for those 2 years sending each other letters. Yes, letters. Like the old times where you had to wait a month to get one letter. However, at the beginning of 2020, Thomas returned once again. This time things started to change, and it didn't take long before we started becoming more than friends. After leaving in July to work we finally started dating in October and then Thomas came back in Dec of the same year to stay for good. It is truly amazing to get married to your best friend and we couldn't be any happier. It has been a long journey of traveling back and forth but really, the journey has only just begun.
