Wedding Party

Meet our family and friends that are walking down the aisle with us!

Katie Canfield

Bride

Travis Melland

Groom

Abby Purmal

Maid of Honor

Abby and I met on the Ultimate Frisbee Team at NMU, but it took a little while for us to actually meet. We never made it to the same practices, which had our teammates thinking we were one and the same. Even back then people thought we looked & acted similar. :) Ultimate quickly become a huge part of our lives and before we knew it we were together all the time, eating sandwiches, watching HGTV, dreaming of our forever homes (which we still do to this day) or making delicious dinners from scratch. Yum! We even helped to create & co-coach the Women's Ultimate Frisbee team Aurora! It was the best decision moving to Minnesota with Abby- I wouldnt be with Travis otherwise! And even though we don't see eachother as much as I'd like to, I can always count on Abby for anything! :)

Chris Melland

Best Man

We've been through a lot together growing up. Plenty of memories and scars to make sure we don't forget them! There's a lot I could say, but most of our stories are not appropriate for this setting and this isn't confession time. I love this guy and always will, family isn't something we can really choose, but I am proud I have him as a brother.

Samantha Meier

Bridesmaid

Sam and I lived across the hall from each other in our dorm at Northern Michigan University. We were instant friends, It helps that her laugh is so infectious. Her and I both had a love for baking- I remember baking cupcakes in our rooms with a box of chocolate cake mix, coke and Sam's mini cupcake maker. So Good!! Whatever we did from talking about how cute our English Professor was, or getting ready for our famous dorm floor fancy dinners, where Sam did all the girls hair- Sam always made it so memorable. She is one of a kind and I cant wait to have her by my side as I was by hers for this next chapter in our lives!!

Dan Croney

Groomsman

Dan and I met in high school. We continued our friendship as roommates freshman year at NMU as well as sharing a house during intermittent months later in our college years. There's going to be a theme here of things I can't or shouldn't share at this time. But this guy and I have shared a lot of really fun times and lots of laughs - I mean check out that pic.

Gretchen De-Long

Bridesmaid

Gretchen and I met on the Ultimate Frisbee Team - I smell a theme! My college experience and life would not have been the same without her. She was always my go to girl for advice about guys, friendship and life in general. The one thing, out of many, i love the most about our friendship is that no matter how busy we got we always took the time to catch up. When at school it was eating lunch at least once a week and after we graduated and went our separate ways we continued the tradition with letters. It was a little old school, but that just goes to show how good a friend Gretchen is. it took longer to get, but it meant so much more! I couldn't imagine my life without her and i cannot wait to have her by my side for this next adventure.

Norman Purmal

Groomsman

When I moved to Minnesota, I didn't know many people, except for Katie, Abby, and Norm. I think naturally we became friends, not only because we hung out a lot while Abby and Katie did everything together, but we also share similar views, sense of humor, and a taste for beer! Not to mention guns... We've made some memories and looking forward to making more between our two families.

Kendra Norton

Bridesmaid

Kendra and I met yes you guessed it on the Ultimate Frisbee Team! She never judges the crazy adventures I take in my life and most of the time she is right there next me handing me other beer when i am not even finished with the first one yet. She is constantly making me laugh with phrases that don't come out quite right or just being her silly self. Kendra will be the first to tell you that Travis and I are a together because of a conversation she had with him while drinking. I will forever remember Kendra passing me a sticky note with the sentence "He Loves you" written on it, followed by the both of us and Abby whispering about the whole thing in Abby's room. She is always the first to congratulate you and I cannot wait to have her keep my hands filled on my wedding day :)

Sean Canfield

Groomsman

Sean being from Chicago-area Illinois, and me Green Bay, WI, I was a little curious on how our relationship was going to start...but like a smart man, he's a Packers fan, so he's good in my book. With just a couple Christmas', a trip to Texas, and a few Blackhawks games, there really hasn't been a lot of memories shared so far, but I'm looking forward to getting to know my future brother-in-law some more.

For all the days along the way
