April 27, 2011 Michael and I met and started dating our sophomore year of high school. Despite attending different high schools, living in different cities, and playing sports year round, we made our relationship work. After we graduated from high school, I went on to attend Sacramento State on a track scholarship and Michael went on to complete the Park Ranger Academy. Now we lived even further apart and had less time, yet we still made it work. After about 6 years of dating, Michael finally moved to Sacramento to live with me. Shortly after he moved out to Sacramento I had applied and been accepted into Sacramento State's Doctor of Physical Therapy program and he returned to working in construction. During my time in grad school, Michael was the most supportive partner I could ever ask for. He always made sure I had a home cooked meal, forced me to take study breaks to eat, and braced himself for the hysteria that came with midterms and finals. I think Michael was more excited than I was the day I graduated! Throughout our 10+ years of dating, Michael and I have always encouraged each other to pursue what makes us happy. If I have learned anything over the years, it's that living life with this man is what makes me happiest.

June 29, 2019 During a camping trip with my family, Michael took me on an adventure down the coastline where we hiked to a secluded beach. After wandering around the beach looking at rocks, seashells, and the sea life, Michael got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! And of course I said YES!!!
