DISCOVERY Children's Museum

For some family fun for the kiddos, a three-story museum full of interactive exhibits promoting science, art and culture. That's the Discovery Children's Museum. Home to nine themed exhibition halls, the 58,000-square-foot museum entices children of all ages with a well-rounded array of learning experiences that feel a whole lot more like play. Located in Symphony Park, adjacent to The Smith Center in downtown Las Vegas.

Velveteen Rabbit

Velveteen Rabbit is a craft cocktail and beer bar situated in the heart of the Arts District. Each seasonal cocktail menu is the product of innovation, creativity, and care, boasting of fresh produce and house-made ingredients. A range of specialty beers with a rotating selection of twelve taps, as well as 18-20 bottled beers. An eclectic space features local art, boutique spirits, vintage furniture, and a magical pink outdoor patio.

The Underground Speakeasy and Distillery

The speakeasy at the Mob Museum is accessible from inside whether you first toured the museum or not. For those looking for a true speakeasy experience, I recommend using the secret exterior entrance. Access to the hidden bar is granted only to guests that can find the hidden entrance and can recite the password of the day. The Underground’s cocktails are served in a unique way, as they would have been during prohibition. For instance, there is a cocktail served concealed in a hollowed-out book, and another served in a miniature bathtub. The average price for a cocktail is $14 – $15, wine is around $10 – $15 per glass, and bottled beer costs $6 – $7.

First Friday Las Vegas

On the night of our wedding. It is a free community festival in downtown Las Vegas that is held on the First Friday of every month from 5 pm to 11 pm. The First Friday festival features local art, music, food, and so much more, focusing on culture, creativity, and fun! Each First Friday has a unique theme that defines the type of art displayed, artists performing and the vendors showcasing their amazing products. You’ll find a plethora of visual and performing arts, live music, food, and people. The event provides local artists with a platform to share their work, sell their products. People from all over the valley come together to experience all of downtown and even migrate the experience to Fremont Street

One of my top places to eat, you don’t want to miss eating here if you’re a seafood aficionado. You pick your seasoning and as much spice as you can handle, and dig into crawfish, lobster, king crab, shrimp and more.

Soulbelly BBQ

New Jersey-native Bruce Kalman, who appeared on Season 15 of Top Chef, shows his love for central Texas barbecue at his 18b smokehouse with smoked brisket, chicharrones, and plenty of Shiner Bock to wash it down. Try the “Belly of Soul” sandwich with brisket, pickled onions, crispy onions, cheese sauce, fried egg, and spicy barbecue sauce. Live music makes for a fun atmosphere.
