A small lake that has everything you could ever hope for and more! Spend the day on the sand bar, doing water sports, sailing, and anything else that floats your boat ;)
(Arguably) the best bakery in the county. Chocolate croissants, breakfast sandwiches, and pizzas that will make you want to go back every day.
Right in Fishtown and a must-visit while you’re in Leland. The North Shore with pretzel bread is my all-time favorite sandwich, but you really can’t go wrong! Pro Tip: Order ahead by calling (312) 256 - 9141 and be sure to bring cash (credit cards are not accepted).
This local brewery nestled right in Suttons Bay is a gem and a local stomping ground for the Northern MI social scene!
Breakfast, lunch, and more! This restaurant came on the scene in the last 3 years and has been winning over the county since then. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito or omelet!
Historic fishing village in Leland that has cute shops, restaurants (aka Cheese Shop), and views of the harbor.
Cider and Winery spot located just outside of Suttons Bay. It’s also easily accessible via the Tart Trail if you want to get a workout in between having wine!
Grab a bike from Suttons Bay Bikes and hit the trail! This is a fully-paved trail that goes all the way to Traverse City. Jump off the trail at any time to sip some wine, eat great food (E.g., Farm Club), or grab a beer at Hop Lot!
Free rum, gin, vodka, whiskey, and liqueur tastings (dangerous move) with a large indoor and outdoor tasting room. If you’re a bloody mary fan, this is a must-visit!
Winery right on the channel in Lake Leelanau. Highly recommend grabbing a pizza at Nittolo’s across the street and going to the boathouse for one of their live music nights (every Wednesday and Sunday evening)!
Beautiful view of Lake Michigan with fun dunes all around to hike on and run down. Text Julia if you go and she can give you directions to the secret dune run :)
Hazel’s favorite hiking spot in the area. Great combo of woods, fields, and beautiful views!
Bring your pickleball racket, tennis racket, beach volleyball, or soccer ball! A popular stomping ground for “friendly” Andress family pickleball and beach volleyball competitions.
Public beach right in Leland (yes, lakes can have big beaches too!). If Van’s is too busy, walk down North Lake Street to North Beach. You’ll likely see some rock hunters on the lookout for petoskey and blue stones!
