Ben was lucky enough to find Julia on a dating app shortly after getting to Austin (big shout-out to Hinge!). After spending a solid 30 minutes perfecting his opening line, Ben took his shot. Julia was a sucker for Ben’s traveling photos and (alleged) knowledge about Austin bike routes. She decided to allow him a coffee (screening) date. Julia arrived at the first date (fashionably late of course) to see Ben thoughtfully reading a book about meditation. Strong start! Ben brought his A-game and was able to secure a second date. Things really took off on date #2. Julia and Ben met for brunch (Ben still hadn’t earned the dinner time slot), but they ended up spending the whole afternoon together. Julia loved Ben's "yes" man attitude, sense of adventure, and willingness to dive into deep conversations about life and philosophy. Ben loved Julia's intellect, positive energy, and willingness to approach and initiate board games with a group of strangers. Quickly, it became clear they were on to something special. Like two long-lost best friends, they found more and more excuses to spend time together. They loved exploring Austin, playing pickleball, walking Hazel, aggressively competing against each other, talking about business ideas, being in nature, and so much more. Both Julia and Ben were sold in months. From the big moments of road-tripping around Iceland, passing multiple friend tests, and biking over 200 miles together across Iowa, to the little moments of reading on the couch, cuddling with Hazel, and appreciating a red leaf on the sidewalk.... their love continued to grow and it quickly became clear they would spend their lives together. Ben proposed to Julia on July 1st in her favorite place in the world, Leland MI. We can't wait to share this special place with you!
