Question

What if my passport expires soon?

Answer

Some countries require that your passport be valid at least six months beyond the dates of your trip. Some airlines will not allow you to board if this requirement is not met. The current passport renewal processing time is 7-10 weeks.

Question

What kind of terrain will the ceremony be held on?

Answer

The ceremony will be on grass. In addition, the walk from the ceremony to the reception will be around 10 minutes. We would recommended bringing flats in addition to your heels.

Question

What's the weather like at the Burgenstock?

Answer

Weather can change at an instant up on the mountain. We were advised that in July its around a high of 70-80 degrees with a low in the 60's. It can also get pretty windy. We would advise to bring a small sweater just in case.

Question

What is some history of the venue?

Answer

The Burgenstock dates back to 1873. Audrey Hepburn got married at the Burgenstock in 1954. Audrey Hepburn loved the Burgenstock so much that she lived there for 14 years. Sophia Loren lived there as well. In the 1950s and 60s, celebrities like Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren frolicked in the nearby kidney-shaped Hollywood Pool, which is still there today. Switzerland’s first electric cable funicular was opened in 1888 to provide easy access to the ridgetop site 500 metres above Lake Lucerne. This funicular has been renovated offering a thrilling and historically-authentic way to ascend the steep incline to the resort, which we recommend you take when arriving to the venue.
