Soooo...most of you will be traveling from around sea level to over 9,000 feet in elevation! Altitude sickness is NO FUN. Here you will find tips and tricks to help you acclimate to the altitude in Colorado! Stay hydrated, friends! Start increasing your water intake BEFORE your adventure to Colorado (at least two weeks prior). If you are able to, we recommend flying into Denver a day before you travel up to Winter Park in order to acclimate to the change in elevation. Here are two articles we recommend checking out while planning your trip to Colorado. Please don't think "It won't happen to me!".... altitude sickness makes for a really bad trip. We want you to have fun! Also, higher elevation also impacts your alcohol tolerance, so please drink responsibly! John and Micaela will be in Winter Park starting Tuesday, June 29th and staying until July 5th. Please feel free to stay for the entire weekend and hang out with us!
Colorado weather can be very peculiar. For those coming from warmer states with higher humidity, shorts and t-shirts during the day might be too cold for you. We recommend bringing a light jacket and maybe capri jeans. Do not forget your sunscreen, hat, chapstick and water! We also might get afternoon thunderstorms that cool things off as well.
This is completely up to you! We are not expecting anything. We did create a registry if you would like to gift us something.
We kindly ask that you refrain from using your devices as we want to see your faces. We have hired a team of photographers and a videographer to capture the day. :)
Check back here soon!
Travel time from the airport to Winter Park will vary depending on traffic. We recommend avoiding flights that land during rush hour as I-70 is a bear to drive through with all the construction. Drive time will take you anywhere from 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes.
No, you can choose to stay elsewhere. Hopefully, you stay the night of July 2nd at least since it will be a late night :) We want everyone to stay safe!
