Flight
We recommend flying into Florence (FLR) which is less than a 1 hour drive from the venue. We suggest setting up alerts with Skyscanner, Hopper, or any other service to get the best deal of flights within the next 8 months.
Travel Note
Tuscany is one of the most well-known wine regions in Italy! It is filled with rolling hills, olive groves, and vineyards. There are many small towns that make up the Tuscany region. Terre di Baccio is immediately outside and above the town of Greve in Chianti. We recommend renting a car so that you can travel throughout the region and have the best access to our intimate town and the surrounding area. BY CAR Coming from the North, exit the A1 at Firenze Impruneta, and simply follow the signs to Greve in Chianti. From the south, exit the A1 at Firenze Sud, and take the historical SS222 south to Greve in Chianti. BY BUS The SITA bus lines connect Florence to the centre of Greve in Chianti in less than 1 hour. The bus departs from the terminal adjacent to the Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence, and takes you to the bus stop “campo sportivo”, directly across from the main gate.
Rental Car
Reserve online in advance. Pickup and drop-off at the airport for best pricing. You will not be able to rent a car from any of the major companies in small towns. We recommend rental offices at the Florence airport. It is recommended, in the absolute abundance of caution, to first secure an International Driving Permit (IDP) prior to renting a car. You can get an IDP from AAA: https://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html In practice, this likely will not be needed. Only a US driver's license is required; though obtaining an IDP is the recommended "better safe than sorry" approach. Manual transmissions are the norm. If you must have an automatic, remember to make specific arrangements with the rental company in advance.
Hotel
We will be providing accommodations for all of our guests. Please RSVP promptly so that we may secure additional rooms within walking distance in the town of Greve if necessary.
