This is a lovely place for taking in some local history, and a lovely park by a lake. Definitely a summertime favorite!
This is the best and one of the largest indoor Spas in Europe! It's near the wedding venue, close to the Airport, and one of our favorite places to relax. It's great for a date but also family friendly!
The Bucegi mountains are an amazing place to hike with breathtaking views from the majestic Carpathian Mountains. A 2-3 hour drive from Bucharest or a quick train ride up to Sinaia and then a Cable Car to the top of the mountain. It's the most amazing place nearby and definitely worth the trip.
If you're looking to experience some of the wildness of Romania, a trip to the bear sanctuary is absolutely worth it. Situated in quiet transylvanian countryside with a great view of Piatra Craiului national park, the sanctuary has been rescuing bears kept in captivity for many years. All the bears are European brown bears that flourish in Romania's wild countryside. Your entry helps support the rescue options available to these bears and rehabilitate them.
A pretty transylvanian town, Brasov offers nice restaurants and easy access to local atrractions such as the bear sanctuary, Piatra Craiului National Park and Bran Castle (Dracula's castle). Brasov has lovely architecture, eateries and even a cable car up to the mountainside where the famous Brasov letterings are positioned (think Hollywood but Romania). Worth a visit.
The famous Dracula castle nestled in transylvanian mountains, Bran is a well trodden tourist trail. With many exhibitions on offer seasonally, there's always something to see here. More truthfully, Bran was a redesigned home for Romanian royalty and there is a lot of information about how Romania grew and changed in the last 100 years. Buy tickets in advance and go early as it can get very busy!
Claiming to be the oldest beer hall in Bucuresti, Caru Cu Bere us worth a visit for the beautiful interior dining and tasty Romanian food on offer. Book in advance for indoor seating or sit outside to enjoy the warm summer weather whilst you dine. There is often entertainment on offer such as traditional Romanian singers or dancing.
Stylish and elegant, Linea is a great place for drinks, a meal or to just relax and view the rooftops of Bucuresti. Book at least a day in advance to be on the rooftop deck. Food is very good with plenty of vegetarian options. Cocktails are beautiful and modern. Definitely a must-see.
Bucuresti has a great reputation for it's garden restaurants and bars and this is one of the most convenient. No need to book, pick a table (or a hammock) and enjoy the food truck style service with thai, pizza and cocktails available amongst the quiet trees hidden just off the busy Calea Victoriei
