Airport Options

For our guests flying in, there are 3 airport options: Richmond, VA (RIC); Norfolk, VA (ORF); and Raleigh-Durham (RDU). Richmond is the closest to the hotels in Roanoke Rapids, NC and is an 80-minute drive, Raleigh is next on the list with a 90-minute drive, and Norfolk is the farthest with a 2-hour drive. If you a flying in, we recommend getting a rental car, but if that is not in the cards, please let us know so we can help with arrangements! We want to do what we can to make sure our favorite people are able to join us on our big day.

Shuttle

Wedding Venue Shuttle

A shuttle will be provided from the Holiday Inn Express & Suites to the wedding venue and then back to the hotel at the end of the night. There will be one shuttle run to the venue at 5:00pm and two at the end of the night (times TBD). We cannot stress this enough - please take the shuttle! Parking is extremely limited at the venue and we need to prioritize these spots for our vendors and members of the wedding party. Not only that, the venue is at a lake house at the end of dark and winding roads - these roads are not safe to drive on if you have had even one drink. The last thing we want is anyone getting hurt because of our celebration! Whether you are staying at the Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, an AirBNB, or driving in for the wedding, it is your responsibility to get to the shuttle at the Holiday Inn by 5:00pm! This area is somewhat remote, so Uber and Lyft are not reliable options.

This is our top recommendation for hotel rooms, and where the shuttle to the venue will be departing. We did inquire about a hotel block, but the room rate was more expensive than what you can find online. Since this isn’t a densely populated area, we don’t anticipate any hotels selling out, but don’t wait on reserving your room!

This is our second recommendation for hotel rooms. We did inquire about a hotel block, but the room rate was more expensive than what you can find online. Since this isn’t a densely populated area, we don’t anticipate any hotels selling out, but don’t wait on reserving your room!

Our third choice for hotels. Keep in mind this hotel is the furthest from the shuttle pick-up and drop-off.

If hotels aren’t your thing, there are a handful of houses available to rent around Roanoke Rapids and Gaston - there are even some on the lake with amazing lake views. However, because of the extremely limited parking at the venue, if you opt to stay at a house, we highly recommend that you drive to the Holiday Inn to pick up the shuttle for the wedding.
