FAQs

The Wedding Website of Janelle Cogan and Josh Glassman
Question

What time will the festivities begin?

Answer

In our email invitations, we have asked guests to arrive at the venue, the Historic Dekalb County Courthouse, for a ceremony that will begin promptly at 6 p.m. Cocktail hour, dinner and much celebrating will follow.

Question

Will there be food? Drinks?

Answer

Hi, have you met us? Yes! There will be apps at cocktail hour. Dinner is a full buffet-style spread. And, of course, we've provided a bar. Expect beer, wine and spirits.

Question

Do we have to change locations for ceremony/reception?

Answer

Nope! We are keeping things simple. The (brief) ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will all be held at the same venue. The Historic Dekalb Country Courthouse. (Have we repeated the name of the place enough yet?)

Question

Is there parking?

Answer

There is limited parking available on and around Decatur Square. Expect to pay for those spots via an app. BUT - we highly recommend and urge (maybe even beg) that you take Uber/Lyft, use the MARTA train, or walk from one of our preferred hotels on Decatur Square. See above - there is an open bar.

Question

What about the after party?

Answer

Oh, see, you DO know us. There will likely be an informal gathering after the wedding, at a bar just a stone's throw from the venue. Again, stay tuned. :-)

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

You may be thinking: Glassman is getting married, so it must be shorts and flip-flops! It's not. DRESS CODE: Cocktail attire.

Question

Are invitations being sent in the mail?

Answer

Invitations have been sent via email for our wedding. RSVPs are being collected through email, as well. Check your email and respond accordingly. Please let us know by Oct. 1 through those personalized links whether you'll celebrate with us!

Question

When should I book my travel?

Answer

We recommend you get your hotel SOON. The rooms in our block and at most major hotels are cancelable. Better safe than sorry. As far as flights, again, we recommend SOON. We can't be everyone's personal travel agents, but there are lots of flights to Atlanta from most major cities. Flights will probably set you back a couple hundred bucks. It'll be worth it.

Question

Hotel blocks are sold out - what do I do?

Answer

We were given only a certain number of rooms at discounted rates at our top two hotel choices: Hampton Inn + Marriott Courtyard, Decatur Square. They're one block from the venue. Those rooms are selling out FAST. If you didn't get one, consider booking a room at at the regular rate. Visit the hotel's website, use your preferred third-party booking tool, or phone the hotel directly. Another option: Choose another hotel, anywhere in Decatur or Atlanta, and get a ride or take the train to the venue. See our Travel page on this site.

Question

What's happening before the big day?

Answer

For those outside the wedding party, there are no formal events before the celebration Friday night. Please arrive in Atlanta at your leisure! Our hotel block opens Wednesday, and there's plenty to do in Atlanta and Decatur. We have suggestions on this site, and hope you'll enjoy our city.

Question

Will I get a "plus one"?

Answer

Our venue has a capacity limit, and we've got a LOT of family and friends - what can we say, we're popular. Your email invitation indicates who is invited, and your RSVP will allow you to respond for only a certain number - one or two people. If you're married, engaged or in a similarly committed partnership, you're invited as a couple. For single friends and family, or those whose invitations are addressed to one person, we're unable to allow you to bring an additional guest. We'd hate to have to cut our guest list of loved ones to accommodate this. Thanks for understanding.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Let's face it: We're old. We've lived together for years and own a home. We're fortunate to have almost everything we need or want. We have a small traditional registry, but our big wish-list items for those who'd like to give us presents, in addition to your presence: Support our 2024 honeymoon and home improvement projects such as a big front porch. See our Registry and Gifting section on this website. <3 (Please, if you chose to give a material gift, have it shipped directly to our home. It's much easier for us and our vendors at both the wedding venue and Janelle's shower.)
