Jake was raised with his two siblings by Alan and Nancy Kay in Sebastapol, California where he dreamed of being a Navy Seal and a professional baseball player. Despite having undeniable talents, he decided to study wildlife biology at Colorado State University. Jake brought his passion for wildlife and the outdoors to Guatemala, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana where he began hunting and backcountry skiing. Jake returned to graduate school and spent a few years chasing lions and deer in the desert. He was ecstatic to move back to Colorado, where he met his beautiful and sweet fiancé, Audrey. Together they have adventured through Colorado and beyond with their pet children. Now Jake is a Game Warden (Geese Police/Fish Cop) and gets paid to catch animals, ride snowmobiles, and eat Jamocha shakes.

Audrey Radlinski

First born to Sophie and Jim Radlinski, Audrey grew up with her three siblings outside the small farming town of Wayland, Michigan. She has always held an inherent sense for adventure, travel, and independence. Audrey rolled like a tumbleweed throughout her twenties, and lived in Arizona for a few years. She finally settled in Aspen, Colorado, a place she would call home for nearly a decade and begin her career in law enforcement. Audrey fell madly in love with Jake and adopted her Scrawny cat while living in Aspen. Audrey decided to join Jake in Summit County, where he was placed in the district as a Game Warden. Audrey currently works as the Adult Diversion Coordinator and mentee Investigator for the 5th Judicial District Attorney's Office.

Mickey Kay

Best Man

Jakes older brother, and number one tormenter as kids. Micks punishment turned Jake into the man he is today for better or worse. Now these two get along great, although Jake will never forget when Mick forced him to play goalie in hockey, and subsequently assaulted him with slapshots. Despite their turbulent history, Mick is an incredibly loving and supportive brother, and Jake knows he can always turn to him for thoughtful advice, understanding and a good laugh. Mick still lives in the Bay Area where they grew up, with his wife Brittany, their adorable one year old son Cassidy, and their terrifying chihuahua, Larry.

Stephanie Kegel

Maid of Honor

Stephanie is Audrey’s little sister and best friend. Audrey and Stephanie were born just seventeen months apart, and many mistook them for twins when they were young. No matter how hard they tried to get away from each other growing up, they couldn’t stand being apart, and even took down a wall that gave them the separate bedrooms that they so desperately desired. Despite the miles that have divided them in their adult lives, these two remain inseparable! Stephanie lives with her husband, Julian, and their two children, Josephine and Odin, in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

Steve AKA Sergio, is one of Jake's high school buddies. Steve went with Jake on the famous post-high school backpacking trip in Europe, where they ate a lot of good food, drank too much, got robbed of many of their possessions, and had an amazing time adventuring around the continent. He and Jake got into all sorts of trouble back then, but now Steve is an upstanding, albeit major hipster, human being. It should be known that Steve and Jake became famous in their critically acclaimed high school movie, "El Intercambio". Steve lives in Seattle with his wife, Hailey.

Britt Murlas

Strong-willed advocate for all humans, Britt and Audrey had an instant connection from the beginning at a personal growth workshop. Audrey often turns to Britt for solid advice and to be a voice of reason, as Britt is calm, graceful, and VERY funny. They continue to teach each other about the valuable things in life as their sisterhood grows, such as peeing in the woods, speaking with tact, and never being too old for a good slumber party. Britt lives with her husband, Mickey, and their son, Cassidy, in Oakland, California.

Dan Tracy

Dan, or Trey-C, is another one of Jake's high school buddies. Dan, a renowned rapper, helped Jake record his very own rap, "Save the Animals", which is still recited today. These two used to go to Round Table Pizza 3-4 times a week, and consume gallons of ranch on their pepperoni pizza while talking trash about their friends. Dan played a major role in Jake's rite of passages, including throwing apples at cars, hanging out in the cemetery, breaking into unoccupied dwellings and doing other weird stuff. Dan and Jake stay bonded over their love and hate for the 49ers. Dan lives in Jenner, California.

Mowita Kensinger

Though she never quite caught on to the amazing scent of patchouli, Mowita found a friend in Audrey that she would cherish for years to come. The two met when Audrey answered a Craigslist ad for a roommate in Aspen and showed up on Mo's doorstep. The two small town mid-western girls became wonderful friends, confidants, and supporters of each others personal and professional development. Audrey can count on Mo for a good cry, lots of laughs, endless prosecco, and creativity sessions. Mowita lives in El Jebel, Colorado with her husband, Drew, and their daughter, Isla.

John Wilson

John has always been one of Jake's most steadfast friends. Loyal to a fault, John had joined Jake on many ill-fated excursions, including backpacking without a tent in the rain, where they were harassed by mice and deer, and Jake claimed he knew what he was doing...or when they ate way too many mushrooms in the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne in Yosemite. John also went along on the Europe backpacking trip, where they ran with the bulls in Pamplona and had a little too much gin and pesto one night in Cinque Terra. He may have poor judgement, but he is a solid friend who supports Jake, no matter what. John lives with his wife Sam, and baby girl, Winnie, in California.

Katie Peterson

It was friends at first camping experience with this kind-hearted and hilarious woman. Audrey and Katie met through their Game Warden partners and have continued creating an amazing friendship. From encouraging each other while climbing the Manitou Incline, hunting, and backcountry excursions to supporting each other through some pretty significant lows (and laughing, crying, celebrating and drinking wine in between) Katie has been an incredible light in Audrey’s life. Katie lives with her husband, Sam, and their dog, Howie, in Erie, Colorado.

Tyler Narverson

NARVOSAUR!!!! Tyler was one of Jake's best college buddies and the two remain close over the miles. Tyler and Jake used to dominate the beer pong table back in the day. Their cunning wit allowed them to cheat their way to the front of the list, whereupon they would play all night, while everyone else socialized and had way more fun than them. Tyler and Jake used to get in major fights for no reason and not talk to each other for weeks at a time, but always found themselves back together as friends again. They had a shared love and admiration of Jakes old dog Tipper (T- Monk). Tyler lives with his wife, Rachel, and their daughter, Emilia, in Minnesota and they have a cabin on one of the Ten Thousand Lakes.

LeeAnn Dodde

Miles have been hiked and driven across the desert to connect with this free spirit and creative woman that literally gave Audrey the shirt off her back. LeeAnn was an instrumental part of encouraging Audrey to move to Aspen, then was a spontaneous and quirky roommate for Audrey to live through vicariously. Or vice versa?… LeeAnn has foraged an unconventional life for herself as she follows her dreams of being a potter. Lee Ann previously lived and began her business at the Phantom Ranch located at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Audrey ventured into the depths of the Canyon to visit LeeAnn twice. LeeAnn has since settled in Prescott, Arizona with her dog, Clay.

Kevin MacBride

Kevin, AKA K-Mac, became a close friend of Jake’s in college. Kevin has proved himself again and again to be a great friend, an excellent drinking buddy, and a terrible wingman. Kevin's general open and blunt nature has always made Jake feel worse about himself, but encouraged him to be better, and NEVER BACK DOWN! K-Mac, Tyler and Jake are the original founders of Beerfest, and have made significant financial contributions to Cafe Mexicali. Kevin was also a loving and supporting friend of Tipper the dog. Kevin resides in Sacramento, California, where he catches lots of fish.

Ginna Gordon

A literal partner in crime, or rather crime solving, Audrey and Ginna have formed a very special bond responding to traumatic events and those calls that are not so traumatic… and maybe even a bit humorous. These petites can pack a punch, hunt big game, trap live animals, and survive the toughest of circumstances. Through their histories of facing adversity, Audrey and Ginna have encouraged each other to take on the biggest challenges life offers them. Ginna lives with her husband, James, and their son, Caleb, in Carbondale, Colorado.

Jake's best amigo and ultimate adventure partner. Jake adopted fish as a puppy when he started graduate school in New Mexico. Since day one, Fish has been off-leash, romping in the woods, where he has had encounters with mountain lions, bears, and also, unfortunately, porcupines. Fish loves to ski, and has checked off some pretty famous lines. He sends it harder than just about any skier I know, and has a way better time too! When it's not winter, Fish enjoys chasing squirrels, flushing grouse and guarding his mountain home. He is one of the sweetest, best behaved, badass dogs on the planet! Fortunately for Audrey, Fish has taken a strong liking to her.

Jake and Audrey's newest and worst addition. Baby Bird, as we affectionately call her, does not fully represent her true alligator nature. She pretty much absorbs life through her mouth, whether biting Jake and Audrey's limbs, chewing up the couch, or slurping water ridiculously loud. She and Fish have become best friends, and they wrestle all day and play in the woods together. While quite rambunctious, Birdy also loves to cuddle and is a sweetheart at the core. It's hard to be mad at this one when she is so damn cute!

Josephine Kegel

Audrey's darling niece, first born to Julian and Stephanie Kegel, loves to dress up, sing, and wear pretty dresses like her favorite Disney princesses. Josie just began her first year of preschool and is excited to learn new things and make new friends. She enjoys playing with her brother, Odin, and her cousin, Eamonn. When she visits Aunt Audrey and Uncle Jake, she can’t wait to shovel snow with her special pink shovel.

Odin Kegel

Audrey's handsome and bright little nephew, Odin, is Julian and Stephanie Kegel's second child. Sweet-natured and mild, this happy boy will do just about anything Josie bosses him around to do. Odin enjoys playing with trucks, taking baths, and following his mom around the house like a little duckling. He can also be pretty adventurous and will climb wherever he can.

Jake’s adorable and happy little nephew, Cassidy, is first born child to Mickey Kay and Britt Murlas. Cassidy enjoys his dad's silly voices and faces, long strolls around the neighborhood, and playing in the park with his friends. This little guy's effervescent personality is contagious!
