Like many modern romances, Isabella and Austin “met” online in December of 2017. After swiping right and a few sub-par jokes they had their first date at a local BBQ restaurant in Leesburg, VA. Ok truth be told, this was actually their second attempt at a first date. For their first “scheduled” date Austin was halfway to Leesburg, VA from the Arlington area (for those unfamiliar with Northern Virginia, they lived about an hour apart) when Isabella canceled on him and chose to stay in with her Goldendoodle, Riley (shocker)! In her defense, she did not realize he was already halfway there when she sent that text (oops!). Thankfully, he didn’t count her out and they rallied for BBQ not too long after. Austin was able to quickly win over Riley’s approval (which was a must) and Riley has been obsessed with him since!
Of course this did not go exactly as planned but that would be too easy if it did! Austin reached out to Catarina, Isabella’s best friend from college, and asked her for help in figuring out how to propose. They came up with the idea of taking “holiday pictures” and he would ask then. Austin asked both of Izzy’s parents for approval and they delightfully said yes! (He was practically already family by then!) Leading up to it Isabella could tell something was up. After mentioning the holiday card photoshoot to a few friends, everyone told her that he would propose! Isabella brought this up to Cat, and of couse Cat couldn’t spill the beans so she had to convince Izzy that setting something up like that would be too complicated for Austin to do. It did not take much to convice Izzy since it is Austin we are taking about ;) The day of the pictures they woke up bright and early (we’re talking like 4:45am) to head to beautiful Harpers Ferry. Did Isabella go willingly? Nope! Tired, confused and generally annoyed she actually got back in bed and went on to argue that taking holiday pictures would be dumb and who would we send them too? After a little back and forth, they were finally on their way to a wonderfully planned out proposal that also included the one and only, Riley! It was, without a doubt, the easiest Yes!
