We met at a party at Washington University in St. Louis freshman year- Hannah thought Sam was cute, so did the obvious thing and tripped him. We got to talking and quickly hit it off.
After being friends for 6 months, we decided to go on a date. We saw a terrible movie, and Hannah definitely fell asleep during it.
After graduating from WashU, Sam decided he wanted to get his masters degree in environmental engineering. Despite Hannah's 'subtle' hints that he should go to University of Illinois, Sam knew that University of Texas had the best program for him. Hannah was hesitant to move to Texas, but got a job outside of Austin and they both moved across the country.
After initially saying he wasn't ready for a dog, Sam casually mentioned to Hannah that he bought a book on dog training 'just for fun.' Tammy quickly sent over Facebook links for puppies in Texas that her cousin was posting about. We drove to Tyler, TX to pick out our dog, and ended up driving the whole litter and their mom back with us to Austin for the rescue organization. Two dogs met us with their tails wagging- "Peach" and "Blueberry", so we took home Peach and highly encouraged our friends to adopt Blueberry. Louise & Leonard love spending time with each other & we love seeing the characteristics they share.
Two of Hannah's girlfriends brought up that they had not gotten dressed up in forever, and suggested a girls' night. Hannah, thoroughly convinced that Sam did not have a ring yet, did not suspect a thing. The girls made a plan to grab drinks to-go and sit in the park in Sam and Hannah's old neighborhood. Hannah, as oblivious of her surroundings as always, almost ran into Sam before noticing him. He got down on one knee, she said yes, and immediately afterwards our friends walked up with Hannah's favorite things- Louise & chocolate covered strawberries.
