Q & A

The Wedding Website of Kaitlin Welker and Greg Rotzell
Question

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE TO THE CEREMONY?

Answer

We ask that guests please arrive at Goodstone before 4:45 PM, however guests are welcome to arrive as early as 4:00 PM. Our ceremony will start at 5:00 PM.

Question

IS THE VENUE OUTDOORS?

Answer

Yes! The ceremony will take place on grass in an uncovered area outside, barring inclement weather. Cocktail hour will be in a garden, and the reception will take place in an outdoor greenhouse-style tent.

Question

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?

Answer

Historically, October in middle-Virginia is around 65-70 degrees. We are hoping for classically beautiful Virginia fall weather, but will have a heated tent for the reception in the case of cold weather.

Question

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Answer

For guests stopping by for welcome drinks, feel free to wear casual and relaxed clothing of your choice. Our ceremony and reception will be black-tie optional. We request that men wear tuxedos or dark suits, and women wear formal dresses of any length or formal evening pants in colors of their choice. While the tent has flooring and the paths are paved, we encourage guests to consider shoe choices accordingly.

Question

WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED?

Answer

Transportation will be provided to and from the Tru Hotel in One Loudoun and Home2 Suites before the ceremony and after the reception. We do not recommend driving after an open-bar reception, but for the designated drivers, complimentary parking is available on site. Cars can be left at Goodstone Inn overnight if required. Guests are also able to park at either hotel and take the shuttle to and from the venue (the hotels are halfway between Middleburg and the DC area). If you intend to take the shuttle and are not staying at a hotel, please let the bride or groom know to ensure enough seats for everyone. For details on the shuttle schedule, check out the "Travel" tab.

Question

WHERE SHOULD I STAY?

Answer

Please visit the "Travel" page for more details. Middleburg has many options for lodging depending on your preferred experience, but we have two hotel blocks available. Please keep in mind the hotels are 30-35 minutes from the venue due to limited hotel options, but there will be shuttles to and from the event. We recommend booking accommodations as soon as possible, as Middleburg is a popular destination in the fall.

Question

DO I NEED TO STAY IN ONE OF THE RECOMMENDED HOTELS?

Answer

No, you do not. We have worked with these hotels to negotiate a special rate for our wedding guests and transportation will only be provided to and from those hotels – however there are many lovely lodging options available in Middleburg, and we welcome guests to choose their own weekend experience.

Question

CAN I BRING MY KIDS?

Answer

We love your little ones but ask that you please leave them at home so you can enjoy a parents’ night out! Please note that nieces and nephews of the bride and groom will be in attendance, regardless of age.

Question

CAN I BRING A GIFT TO THE WEDDING?

Answer

Your presence is enough of a present, but should you wish to bring a gift to our wedding, there will be a gift table for your convenience.

Question

WHEN DO I NEED TO RSVP BY?

Answer

Please let us know if you are able to attend before Friday, July 25, 2025. Guests can RSVP on this website, through the "RSVP" tab above.

Question

CAN I BRING A PLUS ONE?

Answer

Due to limited venue capacity, we are unable to accommodate plus ones unless specifically indicated on your invitation. The "RSVP" section of our website will confirm number and named attendees included in each invitation.
