Yes, they are! We understand the cost of traveling plus having to find a sitter. Please note that our venue is outdoors in a very remote location so that is something to keep in mind.
Our venue is in a remote location, in the middle of a valley located within Kualoa Ranch - an incredible 4,000 acre nature reserve. The wedding will be all outdoors, with the ceremony being completely open-air and the reception inside a clear-tent.
We are calling it "Aloha Cocktail". Please keep in mind our venue and the warm weather. For men, we recommend wearing: linen or lightweight fabrics, barongs (filipino dress-shirts), short-sleeved button downs are okay. But please -- no shorts or flip-flops. For women, we recommend: lightweight cocktail dresses, sun-dresses. Highly recommend either wearing sandals, wedges, or block-heeled shoes so you don't sink in the grass, or get your shoe stuck (looking at you Nikki ; ).
While we want to maximize our time with you all, we also want you to go out there and enjoy your trip. We are still ironing out the details regarding a BBQ/beach day please check back on the "schedule" page once in a while.
We would recommend renting a car because as you can see from our "Things to Do" page, everything is spread out and public transportation just won't cut it. If you are staying in Waikiki and do not want to pay nightly parking fees for a car rental, we suggest renting a car by the day. There are a lot of rental companies in the city that are easy to rent. Waikiki is also very walkable but if you want to see other parts of the island, a car rental is highly recommended.
We picked the island of Oahu because of its versatility. There is so much good food, hiking, night life, beaches, etc. that you are free to explore. Whatever floats your boat. Please refer to the “Things to Do” section of our website for our list of favorite eats, hikes, sightseeing, and drives!
Yes! Our hashtag is #HILOVELEE Feel free to use it when you take pictures while you're in Hawaii, and especially at the wedding!
The answer varies depending on what city you are coming from. Airlines are currently having huge sales to Honolulu for our wedding date. Airlines like Alaska and Hawaiian (and plenty others) are offering flight guarantee for travel through December 2020. On average, you can expect to pay RT flights for: LAX - HNL = $350 SEA - HNL = $475 SFO - HNL = $475
We will be staying in Waikiki: Thursday 5/19 - Saturday 5/21 We will be staying at Turtle Bay: Saturday 5/21 - Tuesday 5/24
The average temperature for May in Oahu is a low of 67 and a high of 81. There's always a chance of short rain bursts wherever you are on the island so keep that in mind.
We are planning to arrange for a shuttle to/from the Waikiki area. If you are staying elsewhere on the island, we recommend driving (be safe!). Uber and taxis are only available on the way back if you schedule them AHEAD of time . There's also always a chance of small traffic jams on the small back-roads of Hawaii, so please give yourself plenty of time.
Put this in to Google Maps - Ka'a'awa Valley Road, Ka'a'awa, HI - If you're coming from the South, you will actually pass the main Kualoa Ranch parking area. Keep going and look for some signage - you'll turn off of Kamehameha Highway, continue up the road, and you'll see a parking area.
No, we don't have a block of rooms anywhere. Since we are not having our wedding at a hotel, we did not feel it was necessary. We will be staying in Waikiki so there are plenty of options to stay close by if you choose to.
Yes, please look at the Travel section of our website.
