We met shortly before Memorial Day weekend in 2018. Despite having spent most of our lives less than 15 miles away from each other, we had never crossed paths. Since our first meeting, neither of us ever looked back.

Over Memorial Day weekend in 2020, we planned a camping trip with friends. The intent was to enjoy the outdoors and get out of the house after several months in lockdown. While the trip was not perfect-the campsite was overflowing, the lake was freezing, and the beach was a mud pit-the trip certainly had its highlights. Specifically, when Jesse popped the question over the console of his much-loved Jeep, stating, "Hey, I'd like to spend the rest of my life with you. What do you think?" It was quiet, low-key, and simple.
