Flight
For those travelling to New Zealand, you will want to book flights in to, and out of, Auckland. Auckland Airport is 25 minute from the CBD, which can be reached by Super Shuttle, uber or taxi. The Ferry Terminal is located in downtown Auckland, which is where you can easily catch a ferry to Waiheke island.
Travel Note
Ferries depart Auckland CBD ferry terminal direct to Waiheke Island frequently, ~ every 30 minutes and take between 30-40 minutes to reach the Island. We would recommend booking your ferry tickets in advance as it is a long weekend and the ferries will be busy. Walk up tickets are available but may be limited during this long weekend period. There are two ferry operators: 1. Fullers Ferries 2. Island Direct Ferries If travelling with Fullers you can get 30% off the cost of your ferry ticket by showing them a copy of our wedding invitation (digital is fine) at the ticket window when purchasing your tickets.
House Or Rental
We would highly recommend staying on Waiheke Island if you can! There are plenty of options available including hotels, Airbnbs and properties listed on the island's house-share platforms: https://www.coastandcountry.co.nz/ https://www.staywaiheke.com/ https://www.bemyguestwaiheke.co.nz/ Staying near one of the larger townships such as Oneroa or Onetangi will make getting around easier and provide access to restaurants, cafes and the frequent bus network. *Please note that the wedding falls on Auckland anniversary long weekend so we'd suggest booking your accommodation well in advance.
