Just down the road from our venue, and the site of our save-the-date picture (aka, Instagram worthy couples picture with the LOVE trellis), this is one of our favorite vineyards in the area. This is a great place to enjoy an afternoon glass of wine before you head to our ceremony!
One of the smaller vineyards in the area, but their Viognier cannot be beat. A great place to stop after a tour of Monticello or a visit up Carter's Mountain!
About 30 minutes west of the hotels, but one of the largest and most popular vineyards in the area. The mountain views are to die for and the wine is fabulous.
If you aren't into the Charlottesville wine scene, head here for local (and non-local) beers, pub food, and plenty of TVs to keep you up to date on Saturday afternoon's games.
A historic pedestrian mall with local shops and restaurants. Dave Matthews got his start playing at Millers (they have great burgers, too!). The mall is close to our welcome reception; some of the restaurants we recommend for dinner before you join us at Mockingbird are Zocalo, Hamilton's, Citizen Burger Bar, Red Pump Kitchen, Rapture, and Commonwealth. For lunch, I recommend The Nook (they have outside seating for people watching!)
A new food hall with a variety of Charlottesville offerings. Grab a Citizen burger and wash it down with a Starr Hill beer for a great local lunch!
For those looking to experience more of Charlottesville's history, Monticello is about 15 minutes from the hotels. Guided tours are offered regularly, or you can peruse the grounds at your own pace.
Home of the NCAA 2019 champions! For anyone interested, Laura has pictures of Evan in Virginia gear the night of the championship. The Corner is a strip with lots of shops and restaurants to visit after walking around the grounds. Take it Away Subs and Boylan Heights are two of my favorite spots.
The top of the mountain offers one of the best views in Charlottesville. After picking some fresh apples, enjoy lunch at the Mountain Grill. They also having a tasting room where they offer Prince Michel wine and Bold Rock hard cider.
Grab coffee and a pastry at The Workshop, a beer at Selvedge Brewing, or a meal at one of their restaurants. This is a super trendy location according to the bridesmaids!
A Charlottesville staple. Bacon, egg, American on everything is the cure for celebrating a bit too hard the night before!
For those looking to be more active, Humpback Rock offers short hikes (less than 0.5 mile) that range from easy to moderate to strenuous. The views are well worth the trip!
