Matron of Honor
I'm lucky enough to call Abby my sister-friend and Matron of Honor (AKA Chief). Abby has always been the person I look up to the most. She is kind, thoughtful, and willing to be anywhere I need her to be at the drop of a hat. I won’t admit that I subconsciously copy everything that she does, but I also have no other excuse for following her to Boston, adopting her love of great food, and purchasing a nearly identical car.
Best Man
Although Kyle and I spent much of the first 18 years of our lives bickering through summer vacations, delivering countless gut shots under the kitchen table, and turning simple card games into World War III, we have been best friends ever since. I am lucky to have a younger brother as devoted and supportive as Kyle, and I could not imagine anyone else standing by my side on my wedding day.
Bridesmaid
Savannah and I first met at soccer practice in kindergarten. We quickly discovered we were better at playing dress-up than we were at soccer, and started a life-long best friendship that has spanned a several decades, a few states, and a beloved shared apartment in South Boston. Savannah is my rock, always bringing the same level of enthusiasm to any celebratory occasion of mine, no matter how big or small.
Groomsman
Joe and I have known each other since high school; however, it wasn't until college that we became close friends when our affinity for "partying" placed us in the same honors dorm at the University of Kentucky. Joe has been the consummate friend ever since, never hesitating to take a trip across the country for a quick visit or swing by my parents’ house to drink some of dad’s bourbon.
Bridesmaid
A friendship from high school that extended into our adulthood years, Katie and I were texting when Kelsey told me to pack a nice outfit for our quarantine date night. Knowing full well we were not going out to eat anywhere in the middle of a pandemic, I asked Katie if she thought he might be planning to propose - she said probably not (she knew) but encouraged me to pack a pretty outfit anyway. Worst case scenario I would look cute on our date night in. Thanks to Katie I was not photographed accepting Kelsey's proposal in my sweatpants and messy bun!
Groomsman
Calvin and I met in high school at a summer Governor's Scholars Program (nerd camp), where we bonded over our shared love of 90's boy bands. We became roommates and even closer friends at the University of Kentucky, despite my sleepwalking antics and apathy towards laundry that he and Emily can both attest to. Calvin's positivity is rivaled only by his knowledge of country song lyrics, and I couldn’t be more excited to have him with me on my big day.
Bridesmaid
Jen and I went to high school together but became really close when we moved into our shared apartment in South Boston after college. As the most fashionable student to ever walk the Tufts Dental School campus, Jen's closet was (and still is) the envy of all us. Jen's humor, positivity, and beautiful singing voice never failed to brighten my day, and even though I'm not around to hear her sing anymore (jealous of you, Will!), Jen still manages to make me laugh daily from the west coast.
Groomsman
The only person I know who loves Taylor Swift more than Emily; Dan and I were fast friends after meeting during the first week of college. Since then he has taught me to never take myself too seriously, but take my relationships with others very seriously. Dan brings the party wherever he goes, as long as the party ends by 10 p.m.
Bridesmaid
Dora and I met in college when we rushed the same sorority, Delta Gamma. We became fast friends and roommates successfully watching every episode of Law & Order SVU by the time we graduated Syracuse. It's hard to say what Dora is more passionate about, Syracuse basketball or the New Jersey shoreline, but because of her I came to love both too!
Groomsman
Logan and I met during medical school orientation and spent the following four years arguing over the merits of public vs. private education, eating our body weight in sushi, and spending long nights in the library. Logan’s wit and insight are unparalleled, and he’s been a constant source of entertainment and advice (mostly good) ever since.
Bridesmaid
Kelly and I clicked instantly in college after being introduced by a mutual friend, and eventually ending up in the same sorority together. Kelly was one of our only college friends to move to Boston after graduation which turned into six wonderful years of exploring the city together, wine nights on Hanover Street, and way too many Thursdays at Tia's. Kelly is also my ultimate travel buddy, never missing an opportunity to take off on a girls weekend, only occasionally missing the flight ;).
Groomsman
Chris and I are both tall, skinny, plastic surgery residents from states that start with K (Kansas, Kentucky), so it's not surprising that coworkers have been confusing us since I moved to Providence 5 years ago. I consider this high praise, given that Chris is a large reason why I chose Providence and has been a close friend and role model ever since.
Bridesmaid
Meryl and I lived together in Boston for six years! Long enough to be considered domestic partners in many states, I always said I was looking for a person in life who made me as excited to come home as Meryl did. While I found that in Kelsey and eventually moved out of Boston, I will forever cherish my roommate time with Meryl (and George!). It's hard to say what I miss more, our early morning walks on the beach or her closet.
Groomsman
Jake is Emily’s oldest brother, and if he had not been living in Providence when Emily and I first met, I may have never been able to convince her to make the trip down from Boston for our second date. While Jake has since moved away, we have only grown closer thanks to our shared interests in biking, medicine, and waking up our significant others obnoxiously early.
Bridesmaid
By far the coolest and most athletic of the Snapp siblings, Katilin is not only smart, beautiful, and a fellow cat-lover, she's also willing to stay up until 2am with me binging Netflix. How lucky am I that I not only get her as a future little sister, but also as a friend.
Groomsman
Alex is Emily’s older brother and, despite living in Minnesota, has always been one of the biggest supporters of Emily and me. I’m excited to have Alex with me on my wedding day and use this opportunity to continue to pressure him to move back to the east coast.
