Matron of Honor
The woman needs no introduction... but she'd be sad not to get one. Chelsea is Emily's very first partner-in-crime and her built-in best friend. At the wedding, you'll find her engaged in some sort of competition (could be over anything) with someone (literally, could be with anyone).
Best Man
My best man and older brother. As the younger brother typically does, I followed his footsteps closely, whether it was music, skateboarding, video games, or weight lifting. We share the same goofy sense of humor, love for Seinfeld and as brothers often have, a competitive nature. After watching what an amazing father he’s been I’m ready to follow in his footsteps once again raising a family of my own. If I can do half as amazing job he has, I know I will have done my job as a father successfully. Devoted father and husband residing in Sacramento, California with his wife Katrina, son Logan, and dog Cooper.
Maid of Honor
Courtney and Emily met freshman year at USD, but fell in love in Paris junior year. Courtney is Emily's best friend and first love, and don't let her tell you otherwise. At the wedding, you'll find her being impressively sarcastic, trying not to cry (her love for Emily can be overwhelming after a cocktail or two), and egging on Chelsea whenever the opportunity presents.
Groomsman
Friends since 4th grade at Roosevelt elementary school and have remained ever since. Our most cherished memories include sleep overs, video games, Jack & Cokes, and long backyard conversations. Our failed plan to start a business together ultimately led me to my current passion and career in programming. His love for whiskey and bourbon has certainly rubbed off on me. Get him talking about crypto currencies and you’ll never leave the party. He loves reading biographies of great historic leaders and enjoys refinishing antiques on his free time with his fiancée Lauren in Alameda, California.
Bridesmaid
Grace was the reason Emily and Peter moved from Brooklyn to Sioux Falls for 3 months. If that doesn't speak volumes about this relationship, I don't know what will. At the wedding, you'll find this mama sippin' on a glass of pinot grigio (or sauvignon blanc, or really any white wine- she's not picky) and tearing it up on the dance floor.
Groomsman
Growing up across the street from one another, I may have spent more time at Evan’s house than my own. We grew up playing soccer together, skateboarding all throughout the Bay Area, and later as roommates in San Francisco. We both shared a passion for cooking which admittedly he was a much better cook than I. Later his love for bringing together communities and the outdoors led him into landscape architecture. His parents, Vicki and Rodger, always had their door open to me (including the refrigerator). Their kindness and wisdom has had a positive impact on my life and for that I’m truly grateful. Evan lives in Oakland, California with his wife Heather and their new puppy Yuki.
Bridesmaid
Rachael has a killer & very quirky sense of humor that always has Emily and Peter in stitches. At the wedding, you'll be lucky to get caught in conversation with Rachael. Topics may include, but are not limited to, rock-climbing, yoga, psychology, requirements for hand-raising ant farms, care of house-plants, and what it's like to live with amazing eyebrows.
Groomsman
Danny and my history started almost 30 years. We had a love for G.I. Joes and Super Nintendo. These days we’ve traded in our toys for discussions around the human psyche, music and books of interest. Danny is one of the strongest and hardest working people I know. He’s one of the few people that I know who can work multiple jobs, get a graduate degree, and maintain a body builders physique all while maintaining a positive outlook. I actually don’t think he sleeps but rather switches his batteries when he’s low. His hunger and drive for life is endless and I’m always trying to aspire to his energy and confidence. He’s currently pursuing PhD in clinical psychology with an emphasis in forensic psychology.
Bridesmaid
Maria. Emily's "princess". Emily is always turning to Maria for all sorts of advice and she's by far the sweetest of the bridesmaids. New York's newest resident, Maria also happens to be Emily's favorite travel buddy - from Italy to Sioux Falls to Tahoe to Vermont, if there's the choice to join each other on a trip, the answer is yes. At the wedding, you'll find her making friends with everyone and encouraging said new friends to try the gin cocktail.
Groomsman
It’s been wonderful getting to know Ben over the years. He is arguably one of the most ambitious Jacobs whose imagination and abilities are equally matched to build a bright future for himself and the people around him. One of my fondest memories with Ben was getting extremely spicy wings with him, Rachael and Emily in Conifer, Colorado. We did our own version of the hot ones challenge and in the end I was incoherent and my mouth was completely numb. His appetite for all things spicy is an impressive feat of strength. We both share a passion for programming and lifting and I look forward to many more years of fond memories. He’s currently finishing a Computer Science degree at the University of Boulder, Colorado.
Officiant
Max, Emily's "best friend, roommate, brother", recently added "Dr" to his description, but that wasn't enough. Peter and Emily asked him to add 'officiant' as well. Yes... we know what we're getting ourselves into. At the wedding, you'll find Max cracking you up while leading the ceremony and leading the charge while on the dance floor.
