Matron of Honor
Kathlyn of everywhere, first of her name, Mother Earth. Related by blood, friends of only most recent years. Half hood, half holy, pray with her don’t play with her.
Best Man
Uka met Daniel in college on their way to church one Sunday and they've been close friends ever since. Their shenanigans have occasionally irritated another groomsman who will not be named. Uka also convinced Daniel to work in football as a college job and tells people about this every chance he gets.
Maid of Honor
Survived grad school at SJSU with Elaine. They cried a lot. Elaine would go over to Katarina's apartment all the time to study because they were neighbors. They never studied.
Groomsman
Unremarkable and underwhelming like the Sacramento Kings this season. Baking a future Kings fan and teaching how to light the beam. Falling asleep in class together with Daniel since 2014 and since been coming up with Okay Value ideas.
Bridesmaid
Elaine and Celene have been friends since elementary school. Celene fondly remembers Elaine's iconic 10th birthday party where they went to the movies and ate ice cream. When Celene left to attend college in the far recesses of the cold wasteland that is Vermont, the two remained pen pals, often sending each other postcards, Facebook posts, and playlists of their experiences throughout college. As they reunited after college, the two spent their adulthood frequently attending concerts, wine & paint nites, and traveling to new places together. Now that Elaine resides in Northern California and Celene is a SoCal mother to a toddler, the two still nurture their long-distance, 20+ year-old friendship that continues to stand the test of time.
Groomsman
Alex and Daniel met in college and were housemates in Berkeley and the South Bay. From time to time, they'll still workout, run, or throw the football. One notable run was to the Observatory at the top of Mt. Hamilton, the tallest mountain in the Bay Area and just a few miles away from the wedding venue.
Bridesman
Elaine and I met in the summer of 2017 as we onboarded our jobs as the newly hired Project Directors for UCLA’s SPACE & SPEAR student led, student initiated programs. I recall her distinctly feeling shocked and reserved upon our first interaction with each other because of my loud and extroverted personality! I worked extra hard to find a place in her heart and now she my sister from another mister! I cherish our personal and professional moments of debauchery from planning retreats, meetings, events, to our trips to Disneyland, Vegas and over extended lunch breaks 😂. We were a force to be reckoned with! Most importantly, I remember all our manifestation sessions and it brings me so much joy to know that we’ve checked off so many things on our lists, many of which I’ve been able to do because of the love and support I received from her! Cheers to you boo!
Groomsman
Steven pretends to be good at a lot of things, and probably would be actually good at something if he picked a lane. Daniel's friend since Hyde Middle School. One third of the Three Musketeers. Cupertino High School track teammate.
Bridesmaid
I met Elaine in 2016 during my first year (and her second year) at UCLA. We were part of the same acapella group, Tinig, and were placed in the same Tinig fam (Do-Re-Migos!). We immediately hit it off and I was so happy to be able to move into the apartment (Totem Pole) she was staying at and become one of her roommates the following year. Getting to live with a best friend is an experience I hope everyone gets the privilege of having as the 2 years Elaine and I have lived together will forever be one of my absolute favorite seasons in life! From getting loopy studying for our anatomy final at 2am, skipping class on Fridays to make epic breakfasts and listen to jazz on her record player, rushing to become Zeta sisses together just to try something new outside of our comfort zones, and going on an epic road trip to New Orleans to eat all the delicious food and listen to all the best jazz, all of our experiences hold such a special place in my heart. And now, post-college, still going on the occasional epic hike and having the best time when we do get to reunite. Elaine has been present for so many impactful moments in my life (she was the one I chose to give my extra grad ticket to when I graduated!). Every deep and meaningful conversation and every moment we’ve laughed so hard we literally cried has had a profound impact on who I am and I am so incredibly excited and happy to have the privilege of standing by her during one of her big life moments!
Groomsman
The Korean third of the Three Musketeers, lives in Texas but still a California boy at heart, has known Daniel since Hyde Middle School and still beats him at Halo.
