This is a fun place to come for taverna style Greek food and traditional live music at night!
A popular spot for souvlaki. Also try Kostas near by or if you are out late at night pick up a souvlaki to go at Bairaktaris Taverna.
If you plan on visiting the acropolis, we recommend walking through the acropolis museum first to learn about its history before exploring the actual site. The museum is a manageable size, so it is easy to tack on to your visit to the acropolis.
Mount Lycabettus is the highest point in Ahens where you'll find beautiful views of the city. You can either hike to its point, or take a cable car to take in the views. If you're looking for a fun dinner out, there's a beautiful restaurant at the top called Orizontes, reservations are recommended! https://www.orizonteslycabettus.gr/
Plaka is the oldest neighborhood of Athens, and we recommend making time to get lost and explore the narrow streets filled with restaurants and shops. The Plaka is under the Acropolis and stretches almost to Syntagma. There are two main pedestrian streets which intersect at what is generally considered the center of the Plaka: Kydathineon and Adrianou.
If you're looking to explore Athens nightlife, this is a fun spot for cocktails in one of our favorite neighborhoods!
