A tale as old as time: 1. Boy meets Boy at a party 2. Boy expresses thoughts and opinions regarding Diane Keaton's best role being 1987's "Baby Boom" 3. Other Boy confesses his belief that "Grease 2" is better than "Grease" The crowd gasps. But the Boys recognize something special in each other. And the rest they say is history. Temple University is where we met, and ever since that random house party, we decided to keep hanging out and continue learning about all the weird and wonderful quirks each other had to offer. We eventually moved in together, living on Queen Street in Queen Village (fitting no?). To complete our gay journey, we then adopted our daughter Deborah aka "lil' Debbie" the cat. After 10 years together, we figured it was time to make it official. To this day, we continue to surprise each other, and while we don't agree on everything, we know it's our differences that keep our relationship exciting and fun.
You read that right. John finally decided to put a ring on it. John surprised David outside their home in Queen Village with a guitarist and photographer. David was told he was going to a fancy dinner, so he was only a tad disappointed to not find food behind the door, but John down on one knee. After some photos and champagne, they traveled to a rented out art space in Old City where their family and closest friends were waiting to celebrate.
Having met at Temple University, and spending our entire relationship in the City of Brotherly Love, we knew there was no other place for us to say: "I do". Philadelphia has been our home for over 10 years, and we are so excited to get married in the city that means so much to us.
