You'll want to fly to the Athens Airport.
Our family home on Evia is about an hour away from Athens by car so we recommend that you stay on the island the night of the wedding.
We recommend renting a car. Negroponte is not pedestrian-friendly once you leave their campus so you will need either a car or taxi to go to the nearby cities of Eretria and Chalkida. There is limited parking both at the church and at Adriana's family home where the reception will be held so we will be organizing transportation from Negroponte to the church and then on to our house for the reception.
We recommend that you stay at Negroponte as we will be organizing transportation from there on the night of the wedding. We have other hotel recommendations under the Evia tab, and this is by no means an exhaustive list. If you want to look for your own hotel, we suggest sticking to the cities of Eretria or Chalkida, or one of the resorts on the road between the two.
Semi-formal attire. The church where we will be getting married does not have a specific dress code.
Our ceremony will be around an hour. We have moved the ceremony to a larger church where everyone can be seated inside, but don't be surprised to see Greeks standing and moving around during the service.
Theoretically, most places in Greece accept credit cards but we find that it's usually easier to deal in cash, especially when shopping or dining. In our experience, the easiest (and safest) way to get Euros is to use your debit card at an ATM once you're in Greece instead of exchanging a large sum of money upfront. Make sure you notify your bank before you leave!
You flew halfway around the world to be with us...please don't get us anything else!
