Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Guests should plan to arrive between 2:00 PM - 2:45 PM; the ceremony is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail/Semi-Formal. We suggest a suit or dress-shirt with a tie; midi or knee-length dress, dressy separates. Need some inspiration? Check out this link: https://www.theknot.com/content/cocktail-wedding-attire

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Because of limited venue space, we unfortunately can’t accommodate plus-ones beyond those named on the wedding invitation. We hope you understand our decision.

Are children welcome?

Answer

Yes! All of our friends and family with young children have been included on our guest list. The venue has a space for anyone who needs to step away from the festivities (changing, napping, nursing, a moment to calm down). If you have questions regarding logistics for any needs, please let us know.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both! The ceremony will be held outside, the cocktail hour will be held outside (semi-covered), and the reception will be held inside (with air conditioning). We recommend that you wear a hat (if you like) and that sunscreen will be available.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, please let us know as soon as possible and we will work with our caterer to accommodate.

What type of food will be served at the wedding?

Answer

There will be hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour; a buffet dinner; and dessert! Non-alcoholic drinks, as well as wine and beer will be available for guests 21+ over. Additionally, before the ceremony begins, there will be lemonade, iced tea, and water available for guests.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of onsite parking at the venue (ceremony + reception). Please note that the parking is down a gravel road and in a gravel lot. If you choose to park onsite, please also follow the directions of the parking attendants as they will direct you where to park.

Is there transportation to and from the ceremony + reception venue?

Answer

Yes, there will be transportation from the Hyatt Hotel in Charlottesville to the venue and back. A full schedule of the shuttle times will be available in the spring!

Are there any other events I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

On Monday, June 23rd, we are organizing a hike in Shenandoah National Park. For those interested, stay tuned for more details!
