Bride
What you need to know about Cait, by Dan: On our second date, one of the first questions Cait asked me was, “What is the Good Life?” Cait lives each day, hour, and minute in pursuit of the Good Life and helping others live and attain it for themselves. One of the things I love most about Cait is that she believes, as I do, that "'T is not too late to seek a newer world,” (That’s a Tennyson reference, Cait) and has been seeking to build what some might call the “Kingdom of God” since she was very young. Whether is was running for (and winning!) Vice President of her 4th grade class, serving in the Peace Corps in Rwanda, leading Uhuru Girls Academy in Kenya, creating educational programs for migrants and refugees in New York City, and founding the Kuza Dada camps for young women in Kenya, Cait ensures her “one wild and precious life” (Mary Oliver, Cait) is lived in service to others. In her increasingly rare free time, Cait enjoys pottery, crafting, tending to her 5,678 plants, yoga, and being a doting dog mom to Obie. Cait does not hesitate to feel joy, share it, and spread it. You’ll pick up on that as soon as you meet her.
Groom
What you need to know about Dan, by Cait: Dan is a very good man. He is committed to being a person of integrity and justice and contributing positively to urban education. He is also very silly, has been honing his dad jokes for decades, and knows a shocking amount about everything from actors and musicians to historical events to sports trivia and Catholic doctrine. He loves a good weekend cooking project and over the last few years has created many masterpieces in our tiny kitchen- homemade pasta, sushi, pickles, kombucha, cakes- the list goes on. Dan can connect with anyone because his knowledge and interests are so wide ranging (don't put him in a box) and his warmth and humor draw people in. Additionally, Dan is careful, consistent, and dependent, all of which make him a great marathoner (he's done five!) and a great partner. Oh, you also need to know he has a lot of state pride, and is thrilled to be returning to his home state where he went to Michigan State (not that other school) and studied journalism (still considers himself a newsman). He also loves Notre Dame and the Green Bay Packers. Personally, I just hope both teams have fun ;)
Dog
Born in Gap, Pennsylvania, Oberon Ignatius (alias Pup Pius XIV) has been bringing joy to people young and old since March 2020. This trauma-free pup never met a stranger he didn't like and is notorious for laying down in the middle of a busy sidewalk to communicate his desire to say "Hi" to every dog on the block. His favorite things are snuggling on the couch, belly rubs, bully sticks, and naps. He's definitely a 9 on the enneagram. His greatest accomplishment is turning Cait into a dog person.
