This is something we are still figuring out. As it will be Sunday, parking around Davidson will be free. However, there is always the fight with the church crowd for spots. There is unofficial parking at the Davidson College Sportsplex off of Concord Road, which is about a 15 minute walk from the venue. We will update this detail as we find more specific information.
Unfortunately, the venue is located off of a main street in Davidson, and there is no street parking available. St. Albans, the church behind The Cedars, will be in use for Sunday services, so parking is limited to downtown Davidson. We are figuring out plans for transportation for those that cannot walk the distance; however, we are still finalizing those details.
We love kids! However, we also love keeping Tom and Sue in the good graces of the Fire Marshall. Really, we would love to be able to have your kids join us, but due to the space restrictions, we cannot accommodate them. We hope you'll be able to join us!
Sorry...have you met Corey? Of course, there will be dancing, and it's a brunch reception, so there will be mimosas aplenty! Drink up and meet Corey on the dance floor!
The Cedars is our favorite, and normally, we'd 100% recommend it. However, the rooms are not available to be booked for the wedding weekend. We hope you can find a room from one of the hotels we have reserved or a nearby AirBnb. If you're really looking to stay in a bed-and-breakfast, Davidson Village Inn is a great choice that Tom and Sue both recommend. It's located in downtown Davidson, and it is about a 20-minute walk from the venue. We have not arranged rooms with Davidson Village Inn, but feel free to reach out to make arrangements.
If this is a pre-wedding question, please feel free to email Jenna and Corey at harris.lightner.wedding@gmail.com or call one of us. If this is a day-of-wedding question, feel free to text/call Daniela at (256) 655-6072 or Nikhil at (248) 794-9293. Additionally, Shanna will be helping coordinating events on the day-of, and she can help you as well.
Sunday best is perfectly fine! The ceremony and reception are both outside, and the majority of the yard is grass, so ladies, mind your heels. Guests will be able to flow in and out of the bed and breakfast if it gets a little warm for guests. We want you to be comfortable and have a good time!
Fingers crossed it doesn't! However, if it does look like a rainy forecast, the wedding will be moved inside of The Cedars. This is another reason we've kept the guest list a little tight since it will be spring time and we know how those April showers can be.
