Everyone has asked, so here you go... In 2021, we took our first road trip "vacation" together. We flew into Phoenix, and drove around Arizona, West Texas, New Mexico, Southern Nevada, and Southern California. We passed through Tucson very briefly and both mentioned how "funky" and "eclectic" Tucson felt, and agreed that it would be cool to come back and spend a few days there on a future trip to explore the area a bit more. Fast forward to 2023...as Aaron began planning out a potential engagement site, he remembered their mutual feelings regarding Tucson and decided to plan an engagement weekend there. Everything went absolutely swimmingly, and upon returning to our hotel the afternoon of the engagement, we were exploring the grounds and stumbled upon a wedding that was set up for later that evening. Chelsea looked at Aaron and asked, "Would it be crazy to request wedding info from here?" Aaron responded, "Absolutely, that would be silly. You know we would never have a wedding out here!" And now, here we are! Aaron's love for the American Southwest and Chelsea's admiration for the setting at the Hacienda del Sol have brought us here for a wedding that we could only have dreamed of, and we hope that you decide to join us for a celebration that is surely to be memorable!
If your invitation says '& Guest' then absolutely! This means that we have a spot already accounted for them on the guest list. If not, then only you may attend.
Unless the invitation explicitly states so, no they are not. We love you and your children both, but we would like this time to be with our adult friends and family only.
Given that our wedding is over 2,000 miles from home, we would much prefer that you purchase any wedding gifts online and have them shipped to us. Space will be very limited for us to get to and from Tucson and having to deal with packing gifts in our already stuffed suitcases is more stress than we would prefer to take on. Cards are absolutely welcome and there will be a table provided for you to place any cards on upon entering the venue.
Desert Formal. For men, it may still be fairly warm outside, so a suit jacket is optional. However, we ask that you wear a long sleeve collared shirt, tie, slacks and dress shoes, at a minimum. For the ladies, long dresses or dressy evening separates please. This time of year in Tucson it can be quite hot during the day and quite cool once the sun goes down, but desert weather can be very unpredictable. The location of the ceremony and reception is sheltered on four sides from the wind, but no roof coverage overhead, so please plan and dress accordingly.
You will be able to RSVP once we send out the formal invitations, which will include details on how to do so, here on our website. Once you receive the invitation, we ask that you please RSVP by 5pm MST on August 5, 2024, at the very latest. Given the location, we know that your flights, rental car, accommodations, etc. will need to be booked well ahead of that time, and we would also like to have plenty of notice to adequately prepare this incredible event for all of our guests, so please let us know if you will be attending as soon as you can upon receiving your formal invitation in the mail.
Please plan to arrive no later than 4:00pm so that you have time to park and be seated before the ceremony starts. Don't worry, there will be plenty of time for you to explore the beautiful grounds of the Hacienda del Sol property after the ceremony (and out of the Tucson sun!), if you wish.
