Aaron's father (Barry) and Chelsea's mother (Suzanne) are both home builders in Gloucester, Virginia. Suzanne became professional friends with Barry and hired him to perform several building projects around her riverfront Gloucester home. As a child, Aaron often worked summers with his dad, including on a couple of the projects around Chelsea's home. However, Chelsea and Aaron never actually met as kids. Fast forward nearly 20 years, Chelsea helped to organize and coordinate her sister's summer wedding at that very same family home, to which Aaron's parents were invited to attend. Barry was taken aback by how beautiful and charming Chelsea was and sang her praises to Aaron, whom he insisted that Chelsea had to meet. That very Christmas, Aaron's sister (Karsyn) had the opportunity to meet Chelsea at a local builder holiday party and agreed that Chelsea was someone Aaron just had to meet. While living in Richmond, Virginia at the time, Aaron came home for the holidays a day early, on December 23rd, in hopes that he would have the opportunity to meet Chelsea at a local brewery. At first, it appeared as though Chelsea was not going to attend, but felt that if she didn't, Barry would never cease to insist that she meet her son. Fortunately, they both hit it off almost instantly! The night went incredibly well, and Aaron casually gave Chelsea his business card in hopes that she would text him afterwards. The next morning, Aaron was awoken by a text from Chelsea, with an "A-a-ron?" meme from a famous Key and Peele sketch. This was the start of it all, and after a few days of texting back and forth, the two eventually agreed to a more formal date in Gloucester at Bangkok Noi before returning to their respective homes in Richmond and Northern Virginia. As the following weeks went by, they spoke daily to get to know each other, and even met up halfway in Fredericksburg, Virginia a few times for dates. Aaron quickly asked Chelsea to be his girlfriend on December 31st, 2019. Chelsea, always being the romantic/lame jokester, said it was too soon. And then when the clock struck midnight on New Years Day, she said it was a whole new year, and about time that they make things official. Three months into their relationship, the COVID lockdown began, and Chelsea decided to pack her car and essentially move in with Aaron in Richmond for the foreseeable future. As tragic as the pandemic was for many, it allowed Chelsea and Aaron to stay together and grow their relationship. They have been inseparable ever since, never going a single day since officially dating without speaking, either in person or on the phone, even with Chelsea’s numerous domestic and international trips.

Aaron surprised Chelsea with a trip to Tucson, Arizona for a long weekend getaway. He booked one of the finest rooms at the Hacienda Del Sol and the two spent the weekend gallivanting around the beautiful desert landscape, ending up on an early morning hike to the top of Blackett's Ridge in Sabino Canyon. Before the heat of the day hit, Aaron got on one knee, and was met with a sweet smile and the words "Of course, Aaron!" We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives together with you. We hope to see you in sunny Tucson, Arizona!
