Ecclesiastes 4:12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
We met the summer of 2018. Sophia had a job in South Dakota where she was coordinating and leading mission a mission trip for multiple churches. Connor's church went on a mission trip in South Dakota. We had our first conversation about music while scooping ice cream. We did not hit it off. In fact, both of us were distracted by other people at that time. The job was not going so well for Sophia and Connor's church took her back to Minnesota where she stayed with their youth pastor. Sophia returned to Minnesota periodically to hang out with Connor's youth pastor who consistently suggested she give Connor a chance. Eventually Sophia made a sarcastic comment along the lines of 'tell him [Connor] to give me four years to finish college and I'll marry him". This led to nothing until one day it did. Aiden, a teen from Connor's church called Sophia *very* early one morning forcing Connor to speak to Sophia on the phone. Awkward. Later, Connor texted Sophia and the rest has been history. We survived a 1.5 year long-distance relationship which ended March of 2020 when COVID pushed UWSP classes online and we were able to live together!
