Getting Around Cartagena

We highly recommend staying in one of the hotels listed below as these are all within Cartagena’s Walled City. Within the walled city, everything is walking distance (10 minutes max), allowing you to explore the town without worry. Below, we’ve curated a long list of hotels ranging from large familiar brands to boutique stays. We have stayed at both kinds and can honestly say, no pick is a bad pick! If the hotel website was not available in English, I have linked the booking.com site instead.

Flight

Rafael Nunez International Airport

The CTG airport is the closest airport to The Wall City (La Cuidad Amurallada) where most wedding events will take place, about a 15min taxi ride. Taxis are cash only and should cost ~25,000 Colombian pesos ($6USD). Recommended airlines include: JetBlue, American, Avianca, & COPA

This is the hotel where we are having our room block, with all room types (with breakfast included) available at a discount. For a discounted rate, please email res@charlestonsantateresa.com with the subject "CAKRI&JER24- “Include Room Type” Approximately a 6 minute walk to the wedding venue, this hotel is most known for its’ restaurant Harry’s by renown chef, Harry Sasson, renowned chef who came to Cartagena from the restaurant of his own name. Jeremy will say that the best part is the Rolex store located in the hotel lobby

This is our only recommendation outside of the walled city. This is where we stayed on our first vacation! If you choose to stay outside of the walled city, cabs are easily accesible from all hotels!

Airbnb or Vrbo

Airbnb and Vrbo is a great option for those traveling with a large group. Most houses have 6+ bedrooms, each with their own bathroom as well as a pool in the common area. Additionally, most houses have the ability to add on house staff such as a cleaning services or even a chef! This is an affordable option with a lot of perks!
