Absolutely. We are requiring COVID vaccines for everyone eligible. Children younger than 5 (who the vaccines haven't been approved for yet) are the only unvaccinated guests we'll be allowing. Our entire wedding day, start to finish, will be outdoors. You'll be welcome to wear a mask, although it won't be required. If there are major pandemic concerns or surges in infections around the time of our wedding, we'll regroup - we won't be putting anyone at risk.
If you're able to arrange other plans for your kids, we're pretty sure you'd have more fun at our wedding! If that's not possible, feel free to bring them. We'll have a babysitter set up in a room at the venue during the reception until 10pm, who can monitor things while the kids watch a movie. Please keep in mind though, the sitter will be watching multiple kids at once, so if your children need special attention, this may not be a great option for you. If you decide to bring your kids, please text Claire several weeks in advance to RSVP for them.
During the day, you should expect sunny and beautiful days in the low-mid 80s. Don't worry though, it's a dry heat! At night when the sun goes down, it can get a little brisk, (maybe the 50s) so it's never a bad idea to have a jacket or sweater. It doesn't rain much, and if it does, it only lasts a few minutes. Make sure you wear sunscreen, the sun is intense! If you go hiking, make sure to hydrate. The low humidity makes it easy to get dehydrated, without even realizing it.
It's the north west part of Tucson, on the west side of the highway. Casas Adobes and Catalina Foothills ("the Foothills") are the closest sections of town.
Funny you should ask... yes! A few desert tips: 1. When you put on your shoes, always check them first to make sure scorpions haven't crawled inside. 2. Don't pick up big rocks outside - kick them over with your foot first. 3. Always wear shoes when you go outside. Cactus thorns are always lurking, even where you might not expect them. 4. Don't touch or get close to cactuses! If you end up with a bunch of prickers in you, tweezers and scotch tape are your best friend.
Yes. But nobody actually wears cowboy boots.
