We attended college together at Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx, NY. Joe was a communications major and Casey was a pre-med/biology major. As fate would intervene, Casey somehow mistakenly ended up in an advanced communications class as her elective where she first developed a crush on Joe but never had the courage to speak to him in class. Joe was on the lacrosse team and Casey was on the softball team. On Thursday nights in college (better known as “Thirsty Thursdays”), all of the sports teams would go to a local bar named “Kelly Ryan’s” to hang out. One Thursday night at this bar, Casey developed enough courage (with a little help from one too many shots of vodka) to go talk to Joe. Without consulting with any of her friends first, Casey just went up to Joe and asked “Do you have a girlfriend?” and he answered no and the rest is history! Joe stood by Casey all throughout her going to medical school for 4 years. Then, when she graduated in June of 2020 and got a job in Connecticut, Joe quit his teaching job in New York, transferred his teaching certification from NY to CT, and moved with Casey to start their lives together in a brand new state in the middle of a global pandemic. We dated for 8.5 years before Joe popped the question. We can't wait to share the happiest day of our lives with you!
