While waiting in line for Roxy’s, a club in Columbia, MO, Kelsey and her roommate Lauren asked the group of guys in front of them to take their picture. They posed outside of Buchroeder's Jewelers with their left hands on the window, pretending to show off their ring fingers. They were going to send the picture to coworkers who just got engagement rings from there. The photographer? Cameron. Cameron was with his friends Tim and Ian. Once inside, Kelsey was determined to get Cameron's attention! She kept an eye on him and decided to buy him a beer and met him on the dance floor. Unfortunately, she also spilled that beer all over his shirt. From that moment on, the two were inseparable! Last call followed, and the group decided to grab some late-night grub next door. They stayed and talked until the restaurant closed and were forced to go their separate ways, but not before exchanging phone numbers. After talking for a few months, they finally met in Kansas City for their first official date at Anton’s KC. And the rest is history <3
Cameron & Kelsey were in Chicago, about to embark on a three-week dream vacation to Europe. Their flight was scheduled to depart late Saturday night, so they had arrived in Chicago the night before to visit Cameron’s friends Tim and Phoebe. To kill some time on the day of their flight, they did what all millennial's do best… brunch. After brunch, Cameron suggested the group walk to Navy Pier, as neither Cameron nor Kelsey had ever been there before. Little did Kelsey know that this was just a distraction. In order to get to Navy Pier, the group chose to take the scenic route, through Milton Lee Olive Park, a secluded park along Lake Michigan between Navy Pier and the Chicago Skyline. The view of the city across the water was so beautiful that Phoebe suggested they stop and take pictures. While posing and smiling bright, Cameron started talking about how exciting it was that they were finally going to Europe after months of planning. Instead of focusing on Phoebe, who was taking the photo, Cameron turned to face Kelsey and expressed how he didn’t want to go to Europe with his girlfriend, but his future wife. The group never actually made it to Navy Pier. Instead, they met Kelsey’s friend Caity and her husband Adam, who had helped plan the surprise, for some celebratory champagne.
