Travel Note
We're excited to welcome you to the City of Chicago for 4th of July weekend! If you have any questions about travel plans or hotel stays before booking, please reach out to us and we're happy to advise! There are options to fit any budget, so please feel free to do whatever works best for you! We also understand that being in a major city has its challenges in planning ahead and prices will change based on demand at any given time. We will try to add options here, but encourage you to find something that works best for you at the time you are booking. Please let us know where you are staying and we will try to help coordinate transportation and/or let you know the best transportation options near you.
Flight
Chicago O-Hare International Airport (ORD) and Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) are both a 20-30 minute drive to downtown Chicago, depending on traffic. The trains in Chicago are known as the "L". The "L" trains are the most affordable way to get to/ from O'Hare and Midway via public transport. O'Hare is on the Blue Line, which takes you directly to the Damen stop in Wicker Park (where Ashley and Caitlin live nearby). Midway is on the Orange Line train, which takes you directly to the Loop, which is the downtown area of Chicago.
Hotel
Experience Chicago like a local when you stay at Hyatt Place Chicago / Wicker Park, nestled in one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods (where Ashley and Caitlin live!). Here, gourmet restaurants and casual taquerias sit side by side, interspersed with charming boutiques and bustling coffee shops. Chicago’s banner attractions—from the Loop to the lake—are a quick drive or El ride away.
