Downtown Madison
This is a beautiful place where we loved hanging out and a must-see for those visiting Wisconsin or Madison for the first time. State Street and Capitol Square has many shops, restaurants, and cafes to check out. This is also where you can visit the Wisconsin State Capitol and Monona Terrace.
University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and School of Pharmacy
This is where we spent majority of our time as students in medical and pharmacy school. The medical and pharmacy students were always fighting for places to study. The medical students always won!
Memorial Union
Iconic place for hangout with food, ice cream, beautiful lake views, and live music!
Wingra Park
Wingra Park is located on Lake Wingra and has many rental equipment for outdoor and water activities such as canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, and paddle boats. You can also bring fishing gear and spend some hours fishing. Bruce has caught 40-inch muskies and bass here!
UW-Madison Arboretum
This is a national historic landmark with 520 acres of remnant forests and prairies. Beautiful place for pictures! Suriya has been taking pictures here since she was a toddler!
Olbrich Botanical Gardens
Olbrich Botanical Gardens is a 16 acre outdoor botanical garden and 10,000-square-foot conservatory. Many species of beautiful flowers, plants, and trees. Perfect place to take photos especially in the spring, summer and fall.
Henry Vilas Zoo
Family friendly place with many things to do with children. Suriya visited this zoo many times with her family growing up.
Dave & Buster's Madison
Bruce loves going to arcades and Madison has a Dave & Buster's location. It's a decent size with good amount of arcade games.
Geeks Mania Arcade
Another arcade place with a lots of old-school arcade games and some pool tables. Definitely a place to check out for a fun and unique experience!
Epic Campus
Anyone who works in healthcare has heard of Epic - the leader in developing electronic health record systems across the country. And how cool is it that their headquarters is located 20 minutes from our wedding venue?! This place is a must-see with it's unique and creative architecture. They even have their own castle! They also offer self-guided tours so you can explore the inside of their buildings and see even more amazing designs.
