We first met at a back-to-school friends get-together during Restaurant Week at Samba's Brazilian Steakhouse in Madison, WI. When Bruce first met Suriya, he thought she was cute and adorable and he wanted to sit next to her. When he grabbed the chair next to her with a big smile on his face, Suriya felt quite flustered. She left him to sit with her friends on the other side of the table! However, this didn't deter Bruce though, and he pursued to talk and spend time with her for the rest of the night. We shared many fun moments that night and it was the start of a beautiful friendship. For two years we became close friends and continued to confide in one another over food, laughs, and late night talks. When we graduated, Bruce moved to New York for OBGYN residency training and Suriya moved to Colorado for pharmacy residency training. We didn't think we will ever see each other again. :( It was during this time when we were apart that we realized how important we were to one another. One evening over the phone, Bruce told Suriya that he missed her and she said she missed him too. He felt her sincerity and was moved by her words. This was the moment he knew that she was the one he wanted to be with and didn't want to lose her. As soon as the COVID pandemic lockdown was lifted, he traveled from New York to Colorado to win her over. Her feelings for him never changed and the rest was history. Six years later from when we first met, we are now getting married and starting our wonderful lives together as one.
