Co-Best Man
Mike and I met in college at The Florida State University, where we quickly became great friends. The man who mastered the "Puke and Rally", Mike is now the father of two beautiful children. Even though he's traded beer pong for baby bottles, he remains a huge part of my life. But his maturity doesn't mean he will ever live down this picture.
Maid of Honor
Sarah is my cousin and the sister I never had. From playing dolls behind the clothesline at Camp and making mud pies at our 'restaurant,' to celebrating Christmas together and finally going on the Moms' New York City trip, Sarah and I are close as ever. Her zany sense of humor and laid-back demeanor are a breath of fresh air for anyone who is lucky enough to spend time with her, and her killer dance moves will be the defining feature of the dance floor at our wedding. I can't wait to bust a move and laugh with her on my big day!
Co-Best Man
I've known Paul since college, where we discovered our mutual love for the movie Twister, as well as Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando. Whether it's sipping an ice cold Einstök in Norway, or "sampling" tequila in Mexico (EPCOT versions), there's nobody I'd rather drink around the world with. Buckle up Paul, we're going green!
Bridesmaid
As a third grader, I got the biggest news in the world: we were moving into the house next door to my best friend. As kids it meant hours of running around the neighborhood with walkie talkies, making home movies like the Norlunge movies with my cousins and the Infomercial Special, and pulling each other on roller blades behind a bike (Napoleon Dynamite style). As adults, it means Christmas and New Years celebrations where we don't have to worry about finding a ride after! I am so thrilled to celebrate my big day with Jen.
Groomsman
Brett and I met at FSU, where we quickly bonded over $1 sake bombs at The Palace and our love of Irish music. As much as we all love Brett, we always hated when it was his turn to buy a pitcher in college. Instead of getting the fan favorite Bud Light, Brett would inevitably bring back a pitcher of Yuengling. We get it Brett, you're from the North. Despite this, he and I have stayed close friends ever since.
Bridesmaid
Heidi is the girl who brought the Jeopardy drinking game, my favorite dog Ellsworth, and Titanic Wine Nights into my life. In addition to her uncanny ability to make a drinking game out of anything, she is a phenomenal confidant, listener, and friend. From our early days as frazzled Teach for America teachers to planning our weddings in the same year, I couldn't be more thrilled to have her standing next to me on my big day.
Groomsman
Derrick is my future brother-in-law, as well as my opponent in the Nashville TV Tray Beer Pong Championship of 2018. His skills include tennis, four square, and dropping beer bottles on the dance floor at weddings. You've been warned.
Bridesmaid
Steph and I met on our perennially-losing 8th grade softball team and quickly bonded over our affinity for ice cream sundaes (usually consumed to celebrate aforementioned losses), our high school football team's games, and going all-out for spirit days. We planned our 'kindergarten day' outfit for four years before we were finally able to wear them during Senior Week. These days, Steph finds herself planning activities for her son Jackson around their home in Oxford, MS, but she's always down for peanut butter cookies and catching up!
Groomsman
Evan is my future brother-in-law! He and I bonded over being the youngest in our families, as well as our love of soccer, even though he's a fan of the wrong team (Vamos Orlando!). Evan is also an expert gift wrapper, as I learned last Christmas when he gave me a full size shovel.
Bridesmaid
Katheryn (yes, there's an 'E') and I met in our senior year of high school Economics class. She found herself spending lots of time in DC while we were in college, where we became even closer. I immediately realized one of the best things about Kath is her infectious laugh, which, if hearty enough, sounds like a honk. These days, some dumb, lucky Australians are hearing the 'honk' instead of us, but I won't hold that against her. I can't wait to drink champagne straight out of the bottle with Katheryn on my wedding day.
Groomsman
Drew is my brother-in-law and one of my favorite gingers. He introduced me to the great Glasgow Celtic, and is one of the best people to share a pint of Guinness with. Don't give him too many though, or you won't understand a word he says. Mon the Hoops!
Bridesmaid
My future sister-in-law was the first of Joe's family that I met. As my only local bridesmaid, I've been able to share some of the early wedding planning with Sanaa (she helped us choose Emory!). Joe and I love spending time with Sanaa, her daughter Kiera, and her husband Drew. Back on Joe's and my first date, I stole a Christmas beer pint glass for her, because she's a fellow beer lover. That was the day she decided I was a keeper.
Groomsman
Jay is my older brother and one of my favorite people to beat at golf. I have fond memories of him scaring me with a Scream mask as a kid, then being told to throw it away, only for him to retrieve it minutes later and scare me again. Jay is the reason we have a "No Masks" rule at the wedding.
Bridesmaid
Jessica and I are the two winners who get to keep the "Khan" surname. Though we don't get to see Jessica and her husband, Jay, as much as we'd like, we look forward to many more Khan family memories in the future. Side note: Jessica gave her stamp of approval when I yelled at Joe at Topgolf for being a sore winner.
