Please arrive at the venue sometime from 4:30-4:50pm as the ceremony will begin at 5pm. We have a cellist and fiddle player for people to enjoy as people arrive and until the ceremony begins. About the musicians: Hailed as “eloquent” by the Boston Globe, Korean-born cellist Mina Kim has been making music in the Boston area since 2010. As an active performer and educator, Mina enjoys performing with the Rasa String Quartet and teaching at Phillips Exeter Academy. Maura Shawn Scanlin completed her Masters Degree in Violin Performance at the Yale School of Music and Bachelors Degree at the New England Conservatory. She is currently a member of the newly formed Boston-based Rasa String Quartet.
There is no formal transportation provided between the hotel and the ceremony, but the hotel block is walking distance to the venue. There are also lots of ride share or taxi options since we are right downtown. If you do have concerns about transportation, please let us know and we will work to figure something out!
There is free parking at the Museum of Science garage for the length of the ceremony and reception. Cars will need to leave the garage after the reception is over.
Please let us know if you have any food allergies or any other dietary restrictions when you RSVP! We will have vegetarian options, but for anything else please be specific and we will talk to the caterers.
Yes! Your kids are invited, we love to see little ones tearing up the dance floor. If you want to use our wedding as an adult date night, that's great too! Just let us know who is coming when you RSVP and if they are going to eat from the buffet, or if they will need a separate kids meal or no meal (depending on age, not sure where everyone will be with solids and portion sizes).
We want people to be comfortable, but if you are looking for direction we recommend cocktail attire/semi-formal. This means long dresses, cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, suits, dark jackets and slacks. The venue is outdoors by the water so it will probably be a little windy, you may want to bring a sweater/jacket/cover up. It is also October in Boston, which means it could be 70° or 40°, pouring rain or sunny, and it could swing from one to the other in 5 minutes. Check the forecast when packing and right before you head out the door. The ceremony and reception are under a pavilion/in a tent, so there is coverage for most areas, but some is open air.
We are really hoping that case rates will be low and restrictions are lifted when we get married, but we will follow the medical advice at the time and comply with any city mandates. All guests that are eligible for vaccines are expected to be vaccinated. The venue is outdoors, which should help, but we are aware that anything could happen between now and October. This means that masks and vaccination cards may be required. We also understand that regardless of what precautions are in place, everyone has different levels of comfort and safety. Although we would love to see everyone in person, we completely understand if you do not feel comfortable attending large gatherings.
