    Our story
    The Weekend Plan

Emily

November 4th, 2023

When Wild Hearts collide

In the Spring of 2020, Emily was living in NYC, enjoying her fast-paced lifestyle, living on the edge of her seat and looking for fun everywhere she went with her girlfriends. When the shutdown occurred, Emily went to camp out with her parents in upstate because who doesn’t want homemade meatballs in the fridge every single night? (Shout out to you, dad!) In the Spring of 2020, Brian was living in Syracuse, NY. He was working for Aspen Dental full time, and spent all his weekends either at Brad’s house or working one of his second jobs. He had just found out he was going to be promoted and would be moving to Rhode Island in the new year! Fast forward to October 2020, Brian was bartending at a local bar in Auburn, NY. As he would tell you “A second job keeps me out of trouble”. Though that’s probably true, Emily is convinced he’s just a workaholic like his dad. 😊 Emily was out with her best friend, Emilie, one October night. After far too many glasses of wine, the two of them stumbled into Brian's bar. As Emily is whispering to her bestie how cute the bartender was, he called her over to “get to know her better”. After hours of chatting and laughing, it was clear there was a strong connection. Though connection was strong, the realization sank in that they lived two completely different live styles. They said their goodbyes while figuring they'd never see each other again. One month later, Emily was still going back and forth from the city and was home hanging with her Uncle Stevie who was at his best friend’s house. As they sat around the table, a story with “BRoe” came up. Right away his name was recognized and Emily told them they needed to hang out with him soon. A few weeks later on Thanksgiving Eve, Johnny had texted Brian inviting him over, and told him “Meg Giovanni” would be there. Brian quickly realized the mistake in name and clarified if it was Emily he was referring to. (Thank you, Jman, most my cards are now signed “To my love Meg Giovanni,”). In the most romantic-BRoe- fashion, he texted Emily and said, “You goin’ to Nikki’s tonight?” Emily did not have his number saved, had only spoken to him that one night, but at least could clue together who he was as she received a text from Nikki saying, “are you free to come over tonight!” So Emily and Brian sat around a table at Nikki & Johnny's getting to know each other and hanging with their pals. The following week, Brian brought up his very soon move to Rhode Island and wanted to know what to do next. Emily jokingly replied, “I guess I’m moving to Rhode Island too.” And as much as this was a joke in that moment, she secretly knew he was the one. And here they sit in their beautiful Boston apartment, together writing their love story. 😉 Forever and always, E & B
