The wedding will take place at Elkins Resort on Priest Lake, Idaho. This is a picturesque, beautiful lakeside resort that Blythe grew up going to every summer with her family. All wedding events will be held at Elkins resort.
We appreciate that the nature of the COVID pandemic is continuously changing, with new variants and guidelines all the time. We ask that all our guests be fully vaccinated against COVID. If this is something you feel you cannot do, we look forward to celebrating with you privately in the future :)
We recommend flying into Spokane on Friday June 2, 2023 so that you have time to drive to Elkins and get to your cabin Friday night. There will be a welcome event at 6pm. Guests who are arriving on Saturday should be sure to arrive in Spokane early in the day so that you will have time to drive to Elkins, but we would recommend making a full weekend out of it to experience the beauty of Priest Lake.
No hotel block, we recommend you book a cabin at Elkins resort itself. The resort has a lodge and 30 lake side cabins that sleep 2-14 people and range from a 1-5 minute walk to the lodge where the ceremony takes place. The cabins have been blocked off for our wedding guests to reserve them Friday-Saturday. Please see list of cabins here https://www.elkinsresort.com/cabins/ and CALL Elkins to reserve the cabin if your choice. See the "travel" page for the number.
Great question! It varies. In the past few years, the weather in northern Idaho in early June has ranged from 50s and raining to 95 and sunny. Most years, it is around 70 degrees and pleasant this time of year, but always good to check the weather and be prepared. We are hoping for the best!
The short answer is to wear whatever you feel comfortable in. The dress code for our wedding is cocktail attire. Anything from a jumpsuit, dress, button down shirt, suit - anything that you would feel comfortable wearing and dancing the night away in ~70 degree weather outside by a lake in June. We recommend comfortable footwear as you will be walking from your cabin to the ceremony and back. Also always a good idea to have an outer layer.
The ceremony will be outdoors. We are hoping for great weather and to have the reception outdoors as well under a tent with heat lamps. In the case of inclement weather, we have an indoor option.
After the ceremony, there will be a cocktail hour hosted on the lawn followed by a dinner reception and dancing.
You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.
Yes! We recognize that it is hard to travel with small children, but if your children are up for the journey they are welcome to come.
Your invitation should indicate whether it is for a single person or couple. Reach out to us if you have questions!
We ask that you let us know by April 15, 2023
Yes :)
Dinner will be served buffet style at the reception. Blythe is a vegetarian and so the menu will be veggie-forward with options to satisfy everyone.
Due to the distance between Spokane Airport and Elkins and the many various times guests will arrive, we are not providing a shuttle from the airport and would recommend renting a car. However, once you get yourself to Elkins, you can get everywhere else by walking and won't need to think about transportation.
Great! Text or email Blythe or Hugh and we will get back to you with answers.
