We were first introduced by mutual friends in August 2017 at a small neighborhood bar called *Would You Believe?* in San Francisco’s Inner Richmond. Neither of us believed that we were meeting our future spouse! On the ride home Blythe’s friend asked her what she thought of Hugh and whether she should give him Blythe’s number. Blythe was mostly thinking about how much her feet hurt and how she would have to return the new pair of shoes she was wearing, but she agreed to give her number to Hugh. A week later we walked together through Golden Gate Park on our first date. Blythe wasn’t sure she had the time for a new relationship during her first year of medical school, but Hugh “kept coming up with really good dates”, and so we we kept seeing each other more and more often. After Blythe tore her ACL in January of 2018 we found ourselves seeing each other almost every day while Hugh delivered a steady supply of ice packs, takeout, and ice cream. It wasn’t long before we found a small, sun-filled apartment near Golden Gate Park to move into and make a home together. The baking, running, hiking, and laughing hasn’t stopped since.
Blythe visited Priest Lake and Elkins Resort with her family often while growing up in nearby Spokane, WA. She brought Hugh here to share it with him a year after we first met and it has become a place we both love for its peacefulness, its rugged beauty, and its huckleberry ice cream. We’re excited for you to join us at Priest Lake and celebrate our wedding!
