Bridgette and Haley's wedding weekend is canceled.

Hinge was our original matchmaker. Bridgette recognized a mutual friend Roland in a video from The Front Bottoms concert on Haley's profile. Haley immediately texted Roland, and he described her as "empathic, with a good head on her shoulders". They scheduled their first date soon after.

Their first date was one blazer short of an interview. Tacos at Bakersfield in Midtown Detroit. Personal and career goals were the main point of discussion. Margaritas were sipped. Bridgette asked Haley what her type was, to which Haley answered, "you". Bridgette drove Haley back to her Midtown apartment since it had gotten chilly. Haley kept her mask on during the ride home because she was nervous.

They both graduate their respective programs. Bridgette earned a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Advertising, and Haley earned a Bachelor's of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science.

After a few more dates, Haley and Bridgette booked a 7 day trip to Denver, Colorado to celebrate their graduations. Seeing TENNIS at Red Rocks Amphitheater, going to one of the few remaining lesbian bars in the United States, and almost dying of exposure in the Rocky Mountains were just a few highlights. It was the laughs, tears, and shittily singing together on the long drives through the mountains that showed them how compatible they are. The didn't fall in love, they both dove head first. Their Airbnb in Fraser, CO was where they finally made their relationship official, and exchanged those three-little-words for the time.

They move into their first home together in the middle of Michigan's slipperiest season. Bridgette spearheaded the kitchen cabinet update, and Haley made sure she didn't pass out from fume inhalation.

They learn how to be a part of each other's support system through the beginning of their respective careers. Bridgette was selected for a coveted Art Director fellowship beginning at MRM Detroit, and Haley was recruited during her clinical rotation for a Medical Laboratory Scientist position with Henry Ford Health.

They joined a LGBTQIA+ bowling league and collectively bowled under 200 for the first couple weeks. Bridgette and Haley made their first friends as a couple. (Shoutout to the Knuckles Deep, Gutter Sluts)

Haley and Bridgette foster failed in a matter of days. They fell in love with Claude when the shelter first sent them videos of him. He became Archie's older brother, and the four of them became a big happy family.

They saw Noah Kahan live at The Riviera, then spent the following day at Metamorph with Hope and Jordan to get matching Stick Season tattoos.

They get more and more involved with Stonewall Sports as Bridgette took on a role as Captain of their kickball team and Social Media Manager for the 2023 National Stonewall Tournament.

After their friends adopted one of Oliver's siblings, it was clear a Golden Retriever puppy was in their near future. On 4/28/23, Oliver became a part of the Sorvala family.

They drove to Nashville with some friends to see Taylor. After almost 5 hours of waiting at Nissan Stadium due to Lightning Advisories, they got to see their favorite artist together for the first time -- on the floor, in the pouring rain. It was miserable and magical (oh yeaaaaah)
