We are very serious about comfort and we want you to wear what is best for you. We have special wedding outfits, but just because we dress up, doesn't mean you need to! Most important to us is that you get to take advantage of the cool stuff the resort has to offer and bear witness to our commitment. What you wear is totally up to you! Seating for the ceremony will be on blankets on the ground. Be sure to check and dress for the weather/walking around, though there will be adequate heat lamps under the tent if the weather is cool.
We are so excited to have Paellaworks joining us! They'll be serving up a veggie paella AND a seafood paella, salad and break. Also, dessert, of course. (see the schedule for more details)
We have everything we need, but honeymoon funds (via Venmo @ejcolen, cash, or check) or donating to Whatcom Youth Pride (www.whatcomyouthpride.com) is always welcome. Both of these things are close to our hearts.
Guemes Island Resort has some specific guidelines that all guests are required to follow. - Just like any hotel or house you might rent, you will be responsible to take care of your cabin. When you get your check-in information, we will be sure you are clear about those expectations. - You'll receive an email with specific information including how to pay for your room, check-in/check-out times, and anything else you need to know. - If you have any questions or concerns, reach out! We are so excited to have you with us for the weekend!
Think LAID-BACK. Drink + Food: Please bring all food and drinks you need for your weekend! If you are staying at the resort, all the cabins are equipped with full kitchens and barbeques outside. All meals and snacks will be on your own, with exception of dinner after the ceremony - Paella! If you are coming for the Friday evening hang, please bring your FAVORITE snack contribution and what you like to drink. We will have drinks to supplement our time. It will be a time to connect and share all of our favorite things! Comfort: Please consider bringing a camp chair! There are some picnic tables, and Adirondack chairs, but your own chair will ensure you've got a comfy spot!
Unless you already are, probably not. It’s only got a handful of small cabins. Please see the travel section for other local lodging options. BUT! Feel free to come hang out Friday night, if you’d like! It’s BYOB and there will bonfire, hot tub, sauna, cold plunge, and rad views across the water will be available.
Unfortunately, dogs are not invited.
Our plan is to have the ceremony and festivities outside with tents and heat lamps as needed.
